Monday, April 27 ~ E-learning

Good Morning 3D! I hope you had a wonderful, restful weekend.  Today is marvelous Monday!

Please watch the video first, then reread the blog post for closer details. NOTE: On this morning message video, I mis-spoke and said the Generation Genius video instead of Mystery Science video for today’s science work.

Remember to plan out your schedule for the day with breaks.  Try to plan around a 9-3 school day, so you can finish your work early. Also, use the checklist at the end of our post to make sure you completed your assignments for the day. If you have any problems completing anything please leave us a comment on your E-learning slides to keep us posted about any conflicts. Last, it is VERY important you watch all videos that we post since these are our lessons to help you complete assignments.

Please remember to visit the specials websites:  Heathcotegateway E-Learning option

REMINDER: Mrs. Gelosa and Mrs. Dolma are commenting and checking assignments on your E-learning slides daily. Please read the comments and “reply” as needed. I will write a recap on Friday for you to review.

MATH: COMPARING CAPACITY

Watch this video first to recap our work from last week and move into our new unit of study. Can you guess what that might be?

Watch this video below to learn about another measurement called capacity.  Capacity is the amount of liquid a container can hold.  You will watch a demonstration how different containers can have different shapes and sizes and a variety of capacities.

Look around your house for different containers. Can you find the capacities and can you compare them?  Show us what you learn today and post it on seesaw. Remember to ask an adult if it is ok to do this and be mindful with your water.

Complete workbook pages 37-39:

Copy and paste: WB pages 37-39

Print option: capacity wb37-39

SCIENCE: Weather and Climate due Wednesday

Please watch the video in its entirety so you’ll be prepared with all that you need to enjoy this learning opportunity with Mystery Doug. You’ll learn how to spot a storm and create a booklet that highlights different types of clouds. This is a two day assignment, it is due on Wednesday

In this Mystery, students learn how to make predictions about the weather by observing clouds and their changes. In the activity, Storm Spotter’s Guide, you will create a small book to record your notes, identify different types of clouds, and think about wind direction to figure out if a storm is heading your way.

Steps to complete:

  • Weather & Climate Part One Slides are in your science folder.
  • Print booklet : mystery-science before watching the video
  • The link to watch Mystery Doug “Stormy Skies” is on the slides.
  • Watch video and Doug will prompt step by step along the way (he will show you how to make the Storm Spotter’s guidebook)
  • Notice at the end of the video he will prompt you with a picture, you will guess, then check your answers with “Here’s what we think…”
  • Post a video of your Storm Spotter’s Guide on Seesaw
