Ongoing Project – COVID-19 Time Capsule

One activity that many students completed during “Wellness Week” was a COVID – 19 Time Capsule. If you didn’t, here is a great opportunity to reflect over how this historical event is impacting you. We are living through history and during times like these, it might be interesting to take notes about your experience and reflect on what you are going through so that years from now, you can look back on this time capsule and realize you have experienced a very historic moment in our world’s history!

READING/WRITING:Repetition in Poetry

Please watch the video below made by Mrs. Mangan. Today you will be learning about how repetition in a poem can create a rhythm or emphasize an idea.

After you watch the lesson create your own poems trying to use repetition. Take a picture of one of your poems and read it aloud on Seesaw for us all to see and hear.

Poetry Websites: Read 10 minutes or so for poetry

Please complete 20 minutes of independent reading.  Don’t forget about Raz Kids, Storyworks Jr., Scholastic News, Epic, True Flix, and e-books on the library databases.

Math: Mass and Weight (new math unit)

Today you will watch the video below to understand mass better. It is another attribute to describe an object.

REFLEX– 3 green dots by Friday

Science: Weather and Climate

In your science folders I included the weather journal and science slideshow for today.  Please wait for our 11am zoom session, so I can go over this with you.  The links are also below for your convenience. We will begin to notice patterns about the weather and complete a weather journal to record and analyze for the week.  Also, we will watch a BrainPop video, take a quiz review, and read other related reading material to learn more about weather.  You will need to access the BrainPop video through Heathcotegateway, so I can review your work and completion of the assignment. Remember to log in with “G Suite for Education” button. Please do not use the generic Scarsdale username and password, you need to log in with your Google account to see your class and assignments.
