I thought that Jonah’s mom’s presentation was awesome! What she talked about was genetics. She told us how they worked, for example we made a chart of the star war genetics and we also made a chart of the Harry Potter genetic and what we did on those charts was basically write down every who is related. I am so exited to make a Rube Goldberg machine with Rush! In our planning and designing we have planned that and the end of our product there will be scrabble pieces an they will spell out Rube Goldberg. I am so exited do the project and I hope ours and other groups machine turn out GREAT!

I thought that my piece went pretty well because it kind of sounded like the actual piece that Dvorak wrote. What was so similar was about the two pieces was that they kind of had the same mood to them  and that mood was kind of dark/scary. The challenges I faced was the fact that it was so temting to just do your own thing on garage band and also that sometimes if I am recording and I hit a wrong key on the piano.

Yesterday our classes 5th expert lecturer was Jackie Bastardi from Curious on Hudson. Her presentation was really cool. She talked to us about how she is an engineer and that she teaches kids kids there. She also said that if you want to be an engineer you have to study a lot of physics. Jackie put out that once when when she made a solar oven and put bagel bites inside and left it outside some guy punched a hole in the oven and stole the bagel bites from inside and ran away. Jackie also showed my class how to make a kazoo out two rubber bands, two cut straws, two popsicle sticks, and one cut piece of paper, the sound the it made sounded just like a normal kazoo. All in all I thought that Jackie’s presentation was one of the best so far.

Last week Rush’s dad came to our class to be our expert lecturer for the week. Rush’s dad talked about what it was like in the supreme court. He said that basically he was a lower for one of the supreme court justice’s. What he did was that helped out the justice that he worked for by asking questions to the jury and the defendant.

Wednesday After School:

After school on Wednesday I had a playdate with Mason and we played x-box, had a football catch and watched youtube. When I got picked up from the playdate I just relaxed for basically the rest of the day watching Netflix and TV.

 

Thursday:

On Thursday morning when I woke up I watched Netflix until about 9:30 until I went to a place called Lifetime with my dad and brother and there we played squash, basketball, and went swimming. After we did all of that we went for lunch and I got a burrito from a place called Chipotle. after I had lunch I went back to my house and and watched some more Netflix until I had to go to my cousin’s apartment in New York City. When my family got to there apartment we talked, played gamed and a lot more until we ate. After my family ate my family said goodbye and left. When I got home it was about 10:00 so I went to sleep.

 

Friday:

On Friday morning When I woke up I basically did the same thing I did the day before and that was watch Netflix and at about 9:00 my family had to go into New York City because that day was my brother Jack’s Bar Mitzvah and before the service my family wanted to leave early because we wanted to eat breakfast there. When we were done with breakfast my family went to the place my brother’s service was going to be held. When we were at the place we checked in and went to the room the service was going to take place in and when we got there we got set up for the service and then it started. When we were done with the service we went out for lunch and when lunch was over my family started heading out to our beach house in East Hampton. When we got there we got some pizza for dinner and after dinner at that time it was about 10:00 so I just went to bed.

 

Saturday/Sunday:

 

For the rest of the weekend my family just chilled in East Hampton and then came home.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The last expert lecturer that came to my class was Olivia’s mom. She talked about how basically around this time of year people give to charities because of thanksgiving and on thanksgiving we want to give to people who do not have the stuff that we have.

Today Rania’s dad came to my and talked about money. I thought it was very interesting when he was talking about all the different types of forms of money. The most interesting thing was that people used to use beads as money

 

Nose Cone

In my group for our nose we wanted to 3-D it but in tinkercad we messed up our rocket. One reason how we did it was that we had wrong measurements and also we wanted to make our nose cone hollow but it came out not being hollow.

Bottle

In my class I am one of the only kid who no how to measure around a bottle this is how. First yo need a long piece of string and a ruler and what you have to do is you have to take your long piece of string wrap it around the bottle and when the piece of string meet draw a dot and then you have to measure how long the string is until the dot the measurement is 10.5 inches and lets say you are using three wings you will have to 10.5 by 3 and that = 3.5 inches and keep your string on the ruler and 3.5 inches you have to make a dot on the string and after wrap your string around your bottle and at every single dot you will have to make a line on the bottle and that is how you do it.

We just launched our second rockets and they were amazing! When we launched for the second time I was very sure that my group’s rocket would go high and it did. The day started of like the other launch, where we were talking about what special jobs and unlike the last time we launched I did not get a special job. So then the new materials manager got all the materials they needed and put it on the cart so then my class started heading out to the field. When we got to the field we started setting up the things we needed to launch and we started launching. No Man Sky launched first and there rocket went very very very high. Then it was The High Flyers turn and there rocket went so high that you could not see it for about five seconds And then it was my group’s turn to launch. My group put water in our rocket then put it on the launch pad and then it was time to launch. 10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1! My rocket really high up but as high as the other to rockets. Then the Roc-kids launched and there rocket went pretty high. And last but not least the Rocketeers launched and there rocket so so so so so high. After that he my class started putting everything back on the cart and started heading inside.

When my class came inside we started going through the data and the end The Rocketeers rocket went the highest and mine when the second lowest.
