As the book continues, Bruno is not very happy with the move. He mostly does not know what is going on. One day he desires to explore, and he finds a small boy sitting on the other side of the fence. The boy was skinny and very pale. Bruno was confused as to why he was wearing the same striped pajamas as all the others on the other side of the fence. As Bruno talks to the boy, he does not understand that he is a Jew in a concentration camp. They talk, and Bruno compares their life.
