Reading – Bingo Board Activity

Today you will be completing a new Reading Bingo Board activity. Challenge yourself! Try a brand new activity that you haven’t already completed for any of your books. Look for the Seesaw activity today called, “Reading Bingo Board Activity 6/9.”

Here are some great options:

  • #18. Map the character’s journey throughout the book. Use images & words to share this journey with us. Post it on SeeSaw.
  • #3. Think about a character that interests you or puzzles you in some way. Sketch something that represents your thinking.
  • #14. Identify one of the secondary characters. Describe his/her role in the story in a letter to me. This can take any form – written or recorded.

Writing – Imaginative Narrative

For the rest of the week your job will be to create a script and Adobe Spark Video for your fantasy stories. Mr. Casal shared with you a document in the Writing folder on your Drive called, “Adobe Spark Book Trailers-Script.” Please record your work on this document. Today your only job will be to write a detailed script which will act as a plan for your video trailer.

  1. Watch the lesson video
  2. Write a script for your fantasy trailer
  3. Share your script with your me to get approved BEFORE creating an Adobe Spark Video
Math: Polygons

Today you are going to be learning all about what polygons are and the different names we have given polygons. You will need to watch this entire tutorial through to the end in order to understand the Seesaw activity that has been assigned to you. Make sure you pause the video when directed so that you can think through some of the work independently and then click unpause when you are reading to check your reasoning.

  1. Watch lesson video
  2. Complete Seesaw activity called, “Making Polygons- At Home”

Social Studies – Brooklyn Part 2

Brooklyn inspires creativity and that has been expressed over the years in art, music, poems, movies and more. Think carefully, make a plan and include details in your creation. A few ideas for you to build upon:

    • A chalk drawing in your driveway (perhaps graffiti style?)
    • Design a new subway car – sketch it or build it with found materials
    • Design and build a new sculpture for Prospect Park
    • Write a poem about Brooklyn – one specific learning or an overview
    • Paint a landscape
    • Write a song that tells the world what you learned about Brooklyn

Post your creation to Seesaw and be sure to record yourself telling us all about it. Look for the activity called, “My Brooklyn Creation.”
