Passion project #4

Today, I did my final attempt for my cake.  It turned out very nice. I decided to use five, six inch pans instead of the two, nine inch pans I used last time.  I liked the smaller pans so much better. This  made the cake taller. That made it much easier to decorate the cake. This gave more room for each color.  This time it was also easier because I had more experience from the first time that I made the cake.

Here is what the cake looked like

Passion project #3

I am going to learn to make a cake with decorations. I am going to start by doing an ombré before I started I  wanted to learn some techniques. I when on YouTube I started to watch other people do their own ombré cake. All of the techniques where so helpful. I knew what I was going to do. I stared to make the cakes in put them in the oven waited of them to cold then I layered them with frosting in between. I started to decorate I made three shades of pink one white one light and one dark put each in a piping bag. Next, I put the the top of the cake with white frosting and I did the top two rings. Then I when to the light pink then the dark pink and I blended then together then I had and ombré cake.

For next time I would want to make a taller and skinner cake by using three six inch pans rather than two nine inch pane other wise I think my first attempt when very smoothly and I was very happy with the way it came out.

here is a picture of what it looked like

Passion project #2

For my passion project I decided to change my topic from baking a cake to decorating a cake. I changed it because I thought that I would have more fun decorating a cake. I want to learn to decorate a cake with more details. I know that there are lots of different techniques and things I could use.  I have been baking cakes since is was very little and I never decorated it with details. I will learn how to make decorations on a cake by watching videos on YouTube on how other people decorate their cakes, and I will learn from watching them. To me success will look like a cake that is decorated to my best abilities. It does not have to be perfect but as long as I tried that is what matters to me.

Rube Goldberg #4

I Know I have not been that is posting a lot about Rube Goldberg this is because nothing is really going on and we had winter break. Both me and my partner were away. Then we were reminded of the deadline. It’s only a week away. My partner was going away next weekend. This meant we only had Monday Tuesday Wednesday to work. We were a little nervous.

We had a lot to do with all the videos, testing, We Videos and iMovies to get done. We were very nervous but we felt confident that we could get it done.

Tundra Ecosystem

There are three different types of tundras they are Arctic, Antarctic and Alpine. The tundra is a place that is very cold and in the winter it is always negative temperatures and in the summer it is always around 50º. A tundra is a barren place where nothing can grow, so there are no trees.

In the tundra there are lots of types of producers like moss, lichen, grass, plants, trees, and hair grass. A producer uses water, carbon dioxide, and sunlight to make its own food.

In the tundra there are a lots of types of consumers like ducks, geese, seals, sheep, penguins, petrels, albatrosses, mountain goats, squirrels, snow owls, grizzly bears, wolves and caribou. A consumer is an animal that must eat plants or another animal as food.

The tundra is a cold place that has a lot of interesting animals. It is in danger of becoming warm because of climate change you should try help to stop climate change.

Lima beans 3rd week

Lima Beans Week Three

This week our Lima Beans have been growing very fast. The three with sunlight the roots are so thick that is a good thing. The three with no sunlight the roots are very white that is not good. The one with no air one of the Lima Bean is mushy and just not growing. I think they are doing pretty good.

Did you know that a plant can grow without  soil? But with soil Lima Beans will grow stronger and Healthier.

week 3 plant observation

Plants
My friends and I grew two plants. One plant was watered with water and the other water was watered with orange juice.   One of them is doing good but the other is very bad, it got moldy so we threw it out.  That was the one that was getting watered with orange juice.  The one that is good has pods because we pollinated it using q tips which bees and other insects would have done out in nature.

Plant Reflection

I just started the plant unit with my group. I love watching my plants every single day. The one that is getting watered with orange juice is moldy, smells bad and is not growing. The one that is being watered with water is growing so much. It is about 3 centimeters tall and it has green leaves. That is a big plant for only growing for one week.

My moon

We just finished learning about the moon in science.  I loved looking outside everyday at my moon.  Looked forward to it for 28 days.  For 28 days I felt that the moon was excited to see me too!

It was interesting to see the different moon phases! And the different weather patterns.  Some of the days it was cloudy and I missed seeing the moon.  I love the full moon best because even the sky around the moon was bright.  My favorite fact is that a full moon is really only a half moon because there is still another side to see.

On Wednesday, April 5th, I am going to see the moon through a very good telescope.  I am excited to see the craters on the moon.  I hope they are excited to see me too!
