Rube Goldberg #3 – My Thoughts

It has been a day since I made my sketch and I have been trying to visually think what our design will look like off of the paper. I have been worried about some things such as – will it fit on the table, how long will it take to build, what happens if, and many more simple thoughts. I’m hoping the building process doesn’t take longer than expected or it will not be good. Me and Jordan don’t have that much time. But what we do have are many ideas. Hopefully my next blog post will be about succeeding in the first steps of building!

Rube Goldberg #2 – Sketching

Me and my partner Jordan started our sketch today. During the process of the project before the sketch we thought it would be easy but once we started our sketch we figured out how hard it is. First of all we realized pouring the water into a cup might be too complicated so we decided we are going to knock down pins. Sketching this may be easy, but thinking of all of the steps will be tricky. Hopefully we can come up with something!

Rube Goldberg #1 – Intro

This week at school I was so excited to hear that I was going to be starting my Rube Goldberg project. This is a very fun project as I have heard by various people but it also takes a lot of work. Some of the things me and my partner Jordan have been keeping in mind is: level of hardness, where can we find these materials, how should it start, and many more important things. Me and Jordan have been trying to start thinking out our sketch. We want it to be very detailed so that when we start building our machine will complete our simple task. At first we had to find ideas of what the simple tasks could be. Here are some of them:

  • apply a band-aid
  • erase a chalkboard
  • squeeze juice out of an orange
  • put toothpaste on a tooth brush
  • fill a cup with water

At the end our final decision was to fill a cup with water.

We hope we Exceed!
