Living in a Remix Culture

film reelToday we looked at some examples of remixed media. Some day YOU will publish original media content on the Internet, whether it’s a movie script, song, video, etc.

How would you feel if your fans remixed your work into something new?
What would you want them to do to show respect for your rights as a content creator?

  1. How would you feel if your fans remixed your work into something new?
I Would feel happy if they gave me credit but if they did not i would feel sad.

I Would like them to give me the credit for my piece in the remix.

  2. Honestly, I wouldn’t feel too bothered, unless they don’t say where my portion is. Like If I made a audio of something, and they put it inside their own work, well, I wouldn’t feel too good if they totally left out my part and said everything as if it was them themselves, without my help. It would be nice to get some credit for it, you know 🙂

  3. I think I would feel a little exited to have someone collaborate with me, but if I don’t know about it then I might get a little disappointed!!!

  4. I would feel happy and sad if my fans posted a remix of my work. I would feel happy because they tried something new and made their digital footprint. I would feel sad because they did not ask for permission. I would want them to give me credit for my part.

  5. I think remixing is great if the owner of the original content is fine with other people using it. It’s also important to credit the person who made the original post or video. On Twitter, people can just hit that retweet button and your tweet is someone elses. But that tweet credits the original tweet, so I think retweeting is fine. But if you try to pass someone elses content, like a YouTube video, for your own, that is not okay. Some of my friends do that to try to get more popular on YouTube.

  6. I would feel happy that my fans would remixed my work into something new because, it would be something new and unique. I would proably just post something on the internet and say thank you for making a remix.

  7. I would be pleased if my fans remixed my work into something new because I would be excited that they liked it, but I would appreciate it if they would give me credit as a creator and I would like some of the money they make. I would also want to be able to approve the work in case I didn’t like it.

  8. I would feel ok if my fans remixed my work into something new as log as they credit. They can credit something like this: Sound (Or anything like sound, video, image just using sound as an example) by Emma Yang (If I already posted sorry about that I posted ealryer but when I reloaed my page it showed that I didn’t say anything)

  9. I would feel happy that someone would want to remix something that I made, because I think it would sound really cool, but if they didn’t give credit, that would be really rude.

  10. I would feel happy if the at least mentioned me, but if they didn’t, I wouldn’t appreciate it at all. It is also some of my work, after all!
