Capstone Blog Post #3

The final part of our capstone is to make our slides and record our script. I was a mess when I first started making my slides. They were unorganized and messy. Meeting with Mrs.Cooper really helped because she gave me lots of suggestions. I wanted to do a talk at first. I had my script planned with my slides but when it was time to record everything went wrong. I tried to film me and my Chromebook with the slides on. You could only see my legs when I positioned my phone to see the text on the Chromebook clearly. I tried to screen mirror my slides on the tv. I had my sisters record me. It was really hard to say my script because my sister kept on imitating me and making weird faces. At one point she got her feet in the video. Ew! I kept on messing up my lines because I felt like there was a lot of pressure on me because my sister kept saying “Hurry up!” and “Every time you mess up I get five of your skittles.”I emailed my teacher to ask if I could switch a screen recording. She said yes so I did it right away. It only took my three tries, unlike the tedtalk that took me 23 tries to at least get it decent. In my final recording, I stumbled a few times but I think it turned out ok. The last part of this capstone process was putting it in the folder. I renamed it and put it in the folder and was done. Overall capstone was fun and I think it was a good way to prepare for middle school.
