Airplane design and forces of flight

I recently learned about how airplanes fly. I learned about the 4 forces of flight. They are the forces that the plane uses to fly. They are:

Lift – This is the force that makes the plane fly. It is generated by the wings. It can be controlled using flaps.

Gravity – This is the force that is opposite to the lift. The amount of lift must be greater than the force of gravity in order for the plane to fly.

Thrust – This is the force that pushes the plane forward. It is usually generated by engines on the plane.

Drag – This is the air resistance acting on the plane when it is flying. The thrust must be greater than the drag in order for the plane to move.

I made a few paper airplanes to test the forces of flight, and just to get an idea of how they work. I made a classic dart plane, which has thin delta wings. Delta wings are meant for, and works best with fast planes. I also made a plane closer in shape to a glider. It still had delta wings, but the wings were much wider. It went slower, but the air was able to carry it for a little bit due to the wider wings. Here are some pictures.

Next, I am going to be making a glider made out of bass wood. I think while I make this, I will keep track on the weight balance and center of gravity of the plane, because it is a crucial part of making it fly well. I think wood is heavier than paper, so I will keep that in mind. Also, the shape of the wings are also very important for the plane to fly. I will experiment with wings that work best in stable and unstable air.

Blog post 3: How its made

The materials must be made so that the wheels are durable, and also they can be comfortably and easily used. Polyurethane is a good example. It is durable and better for tight corners and other riding. The molding is a important part in the process. They usually have a 2 part mold, but sometimes, it is one part. The polyurethane is poured into the mold using a nozzle. And then, they get baked and 240 degrees.

Final computer tech blog post

In this quarterly, I learned so much. I learned a variety of things, including coding i never did before. Some fun things we did were scratch, and I found playgrounds kind of fun. I think that spreadsheets was kind of interesting, as I always wonder why so many people use it and how its so special. I realized why this is. I learned how to make cool things on scratch, i learned how to code in playgrounds, I learned how to use complicated spreadsheets, and more. I had a good time in this class.

I learned in this activity that dogs are the most popular pet that people have. I also thought gerbils could not be the least popular, because two of my friends have one. Generally, I learned about the kind of pets people tecnd to keep and which are popular. i also got the total of the data.

About me

This project actually made me think about myself and my hobbies. It went over the basics of scratch,  I’m pretty sure. It taught me more about myself and others.

I  think this project was really fun, and it helped me understand the playgrounds code. I learned the basic movement code and other.

I faced some challenges while doing my research. An example is I couldn’t find any pictures on one of the early epochs. So i kept searching and I found a really good national geographic set, so i decided to change my pictures to that completely. Also, another challenge was trying to find a good transition on I movie. On youtube i saw a one I really wanted to be in my imovie. I eventually found out when I asked my friend.
