I was working with my group and we are almost finished building. But one part still isn’t working, this is the start when the ball goes down 2 ramps and is supposed to hit the dominoes. But for some reason it kept going somewhere else and never hit the dominoes. Because of this we had 20 fails on the same exact part. Each time was something different. For example multiple times we did not use a ping pong ball, we used a marble. The marble didn’t work because it could move around on the track so it ended up somewhere each different time. But then we fixed this problem, we found out that one change in the weight, how big it is, or how it rolls, can change the whole thing. The thing that worked best for us was the golf ball. Luckily this ball was just the right weight so it move fast and it could knock over all the dominoes. We also found out that a small change in the whole thing can change what ends up happening after the step. In our project when the chain part happens we figured that if we had the chain get pulled from further away it the domino wouldn’t go down with the ball and it would just slide off. Also we changed up what happens at the end, we made a acid base reaction so when the ball goes in the funnel it triggers baking soda to drop into the purple cabbage juice to make the color of it blue. My group thought this was good because it looked cool and was fun making! From this essay I showed all things we changed a little and then it made a big difference in the project.
