We learned about the periodic table. The periodic table has elements. The elements have atoms. Some atoms have more neutrons than protons. The element’s atomic weight depends on the number of protons and neutrons.

We learned that atoms are teeny tiny things you cannot see, so we use electroscopes to see atoms. Atoms have a nucleus. The nucleus is made up of positively-charged protons and neutrons, which have no charge at all. Atoms also have negatively-charged electrons, which are not in the nucleus, but in shells that are around the nucleus. The first shell can hold two electrons. The second shell holds eight. The third shell holds sixteen, and so on.

We are learning about I-beams. In the video, I-beams can hold objects, even you! I-beams are stronger than flat beams because we did the experiment, and I-beams can hold more books than flat beams do.
