Valentine’s Day Card Sale

0

Our class has been raising money for the past 5 months. We have decided to donate to three main charities. For our next project we are going to be selling Valentine’s Day cards. The Valentine’s sale will pay to send kids from Mount Vernon to summer camp.

On Valentine’s Day the 5th grade will put a Valentines card in a kid’s locker, if the parent ordered one. The kid may also receive a small candy.

Comment on whitch one you think is the best.

If you would like to help with any of our projects email dbesancon@scarsdaleschools.org

Till my next post, see ya’.

The fifth grade classes of FM went to Ellis Island this week after studying about immigration. The weather was cold and crisp, but the sun warmed us, just like the idea of becoming an American to many immigrants who came to Ellis Island for hope and freedom.

Here are some SIX word stories.

Undocumented names lie upon this wall.

Come with ideas, see them grow.

Leave behind friends, family and intolerance.

It’s not easy, never give up!

Christmuhanukabirthday

Having a birthday around the holidays bites! You get forgotten, and your presents are often recycled. Still, I enjoyed a little Christmuhunakakwanzaa! Ok, not the Kwanzaa part, but Chrismahunakabirthday. Being one of the youngest in the grade, and just turning 10 also bites, but wait until you’re all 30, and I am still a fine 29.

Even sadder, Princess Leia, Carrie Fisher died on my birthday.

Besides celebrating my 10th birthday with some of my closest buds, I helped my dad choose a tractor. This thing is a beast. It will mow, dig, cut, push, it will carry, and can even dig a shallow grave! Why is a tractor such a big deal? Well this summer we will have 7,000 pounds of vegetables and fruit at our farm. And no, I don’t plan on using it to bury anything…well, maybe my homework.

I spent a lot of time practicing my electric guitar and bass. I received a lot of cash for my birthday to buy a new guitar or bass. The ones I have are on loan. I am not sure if I should choose a bass or guitar. Maybe you could decide for me? What are your thoughts?  I tend to prefer the bass.
