Mystery Monday #3

Today we did Mystery Monday, and there was a story about Doug, and how his dad and his family decided to move and so the dad would get a pond in their backyard. The dad dug up a giant hole and when he got deep, water starting coming from the ground. It is ground water. There is not a lot of fresh water on earth, so people get water from underground. People dig holes in the ground, and then put it in some buckets or something else to hold the water, and it gets filtered. Then, people can drink the water. That is how people get water from far underground, and be able to drink it. Thank you for reading my blog post!

NY Explorers Project – The Class Field Trip

We went to Manhattan on our class field trip, and we saw all of our topics. Mine is the Hudson River. We went on the Staten Island Ferry, and we passed the Hudson river. Then, we ate lunch outside and hung out until it was time to go back to school. These are some of the facts that I learned along the way. – The Hudson River is a very huge river, and next to it, is the East River. The river flows along the coast of Manhattan. It is a little brown-ish, because of the PCBs and all the other pollution in the river.  I also learned that there are lots of boats that cross the NY Harbor. but they have to dock until the weather is ok to go out. I learned a lot on this field trip, so i have more things to add to my script. This was really fun, and I would want to go again! Thank you for reading my blog post!

Here are some pictures of our trip:

NY Explorers project – Phase #3

In phase three of my NY Explorers project, it was pretty challenging. When we made our scripts, I memorized mine and felt good about it. Then, when I shared it with the class, I realized I had to make a bunch of revisions. I needed to add more about the process, and change some wording. on my slides. I did that, and then it took days to memorize that all over again! But I feel like I am making my script way better and I feel really good about it this time. I am having a lot of fun with this project, even though there are some challenges. I am not too worried about memorizing my script in time for the presentation, because I am pretty memorized and we still have some time left. But luckily, I got lots of research about my topic, and it was worth it to keep changing our research questions. Thank you for reading my blog post!
