Today in class we learned about atoms. Atoms are made up of electrons, neutrons, and protons. The protons and neutrons make up the nucleus, which is the center of the atom. The electrons just surround the nucleus, and jump around from place to place at the speed of light. We also learned that there are currently 118 different types of atoms, which are the periodic elements of The universe. Every element has a different amount of protons. If you were to change the amount of protons in an element, then it will change the type of element it is.
