Maglev Reflection #1

Final Design Process Reflection

by: Jordan

Group Members: Milo, and Dylan

Our train had 2 long strip magnets 4 north and south pole magnets and masking tape we put the long strip magnets at the side of the inside part of the box and we put tape under the long strip magnets and taped the north and south magnets over the long strip magnets.

The first problem with our train was it wouldn’t levitate high enough and our groups solution was to take away the north and south magnets and we added five long strip magnets on each side of the track and it levitated high enough.

Our last design was putting five long strip on each end and on the car we put 2 small strip magnets we also put tape under the the small strip magnets so the magnets would stick. We also taped the two cups with the tape so the cups would not slip off the train.

One of my thoughts going through this process was that we are going to do it to make the train levitate and one of my feelings was I was very excited. I was excited because it was cool to have the opportunity to do this.

Thanksgiving

I’m grateful for my family because they take care of me when I am sick, they play board games with me and they tuck me into bed at night.

The first reason I am grateful for my family is because they take care of me. For example, every time I’m sick my mos sits with me in the kitchen and watches tv with me.

The second reason I’m grateful for my family is because they play games with me.  For example, when I’m board my brothers play all kinds of games to keep me entertained. We like to play Trouble together.

The third reason I’m grateful for my family is because they always tuck me in at night. For example, every night one of my parents tucks me into bed. When my mom tucks me in she gives me a kiss when she’s done tucking me in. When my dad tucks me in he hugs me after he’s done tucking me in.

To conclude, I am thankful for my family and for all the nice things they do for me.

New Playground

This year we have a new playground. I think it is a little smaller than last years. There is more space. I think there is more stuff to do. There is a huge space to do anything, like football, pin knock down. There are much more swing too. You can do more obstacle courses. There are twisty slides. There is a rock wall. All these things make our new playground lots of fun.

3KV Estimation Game

In math we play a game called estimation. its is really fun . Each person gets a chance to put any item in a recycle bin. Then you  attach the number with tape and then write the number of that item. Then you would bring  it in the next day. You would get your notebook and Mrs. Knopp would give out clues. The top five or six closest to the number goes to the next round and the closest wins.
