Fantasy Blog Post #2

This is my second blog post on the fantasy unit. I have finished reading the fourth book, and now I am onto the fifth book. As this book is 870 pages long, I will read this book over two weeks. I already finished my first analytical paragraph, and I am planning out my second one. Writing the analytical paragraph was an interesting exercise overall, however there were certain parts that were challenging and others that were more comfortable for me. It was easy for me to go through the book and come up with examples that I wanted to highlight, especially because I was jotting interesting excerpts and my thoughts along the way. However, condensing everything into one paragraph was difficult to do, given the parameters of the project. I thought that the most challenging part was coming up with a good topic sentence, because it had to summarize several concepts from the paragraph. In the end, I think I came up with a well-written topic sentence and paragraph (see below), and I am proud of it.

In the book Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, the Triwizard Tournament showcases Harry’s high standards of bravery and loyalty, both of which he displays instinctively through the tournament. The Triwizard tournament involves a set of dangerous tasks, thereby restricting entry to students age 17 and above only. Harry is underage for the tournament being only 13, but mysteriously, Harry’s name is entered in the tournament. He portrays bravery through all the tasks and doesn’t quit, even though he is the youngest of the contestants.
