My teacher assigned us an immigration project. We have to interview an immigrant. Then, we have to do a video about this person. The first step is obviously picking the person I will interview. This person has to have immigrated to the U.S. This task was very easy for me because my mom immigrated to the U.S. in 2004. The next step was gathering question for the interview. The questions will help me understand this person’s immigration process. The answers will then help me make my video about this person’s life, specifically her decision to move to another country. When I first made the questionnaire, I did it very fast and had many red light questions (a red light question is a question that can only be answered with yes or no). Those type of questions doesn’t provide you with much information. Therefore, I had to redo the questionnaire. Then I tried again. This time I made better questions that would get lots of info out of my interviewee. I feel that the interview will be easy because I am interviewing my mom. I am also curious if I will learn new things about my mom.
