Creating Pendants – Tech Post #4

Recently in technology class, we have been designing pendants for our soldering unit!

You as an individual may not know what Soldering is. So instead of forcing you to conduct a google search, I’ll just tell you! It’s pretty simple; soldering consists of connecting two or more metal items and heating them with an instrument called a soldering iron. Then, a filling metal called solder, is added into the joints.

Technology Safety Rules – Tech Post #1

Today was the first day of technology class! We basically just reviewed the classroom safety rules. Not the most thrilling activity, sure, but safety is important. I’ll have you know that you should never underestimate the wrath of paper cuts.

Electroscope Experiment – Tech Post #3

Heeeeello! I’m back with yet another technology post!

Today in technology class, Mr. Calvert taught us about how electroscopes work. And we even got to use one! It was pretty cool.

Okay, so maybe I haven’t left enough explaining yet. Most people probably don’t even know what an electroscope is. Because believe me, I had no idea that anything of the sort even existed before technology class! Anyways, an electroscope is an instrument used to detect and measure electricity. Breakout in Tech! – Tech Post #2

Hi!

Just some background information…

Recently in technology class, we did this thing called “Breakout EDU.” The rules were pretty simple: the class was split into two teams, and each team had to solve puzzles to open a locked box.

(By the way, the contents of the box aren’t all that exciting. Just a bunch of safety goggles. But then again, safety goggles are pretty cool.)

Getting a Puppy

The summer of 2018, my family was on a week-long vacation in Chicago. On our last day in the city, my parents gathered my siblings and I in our hotel room to, shall I say, make an announcement.

They explained that we were going to need to hold some  “things” in the car. Of course, we were all super confused, as we should have been. I mean; what in Chicago were they talking about?
