The land of stories the wishing spell the book report

The Wishing Spell (The Land of Stories book #1) is about twins named Conner and Alex who are twelve years old. They are both in the same class at school, but they are opposites. Conner is a terrible student who falls asleep in class a lot. Alex is “Miss Know It All” and is a really good student. Their teacher, Mrs. Peters treats them differently. She makes school be amazing for Alex, but horrible for Conner. Conner hates going to school because Mrs. Peters is so mean to him.

Recently the twins father died so they had to move to a smaller house with their mother. The twins birthday comes and everything seems horrible because their mother had to work.

Their grandmother gives them a storybook as a gift that they used to read when they went to her house to visit. The book is actually a portal to the land of stories, but they didn’t know that. One day strange things start to happen. Alex is looking at a page in the book and accidentally falls into the land of stories! Conner tries to save Alex and he falls in too and then they are both stuck. They meet a new friend named Froggy who tells them that there is a spell that can grant you any wish you want. In order to get that spell you need get a hold of twelve items that are really hard to get. When Alex and Conner hear that it’s like music to their ears. They asked Froggy what items they needed to collect and he told them. They decided that they were going to search for the twelve items so they could get a wish to go home. Little did they know that someone else wants to find those things also. Alex and Conner work together and are determined to succeed.

I give this book a 5 star rating because it is full old fairy tales and a lot of adventure. I was drawn into the book from the start. There are also 4 more books in the series and soon to be 5.
