In this article by Meera Dolasia she explains that on March 24 from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm some people switched off their electronics, for Earth Hour. This hour that people turned off their electronics is called Earth Hour. This first started in Sydney, Australia on March 31 2007. They did this because it saved a lot of electricity to help reverse climate change and to create awareness. Not only households and businesses turned off their electricity also landmarks turned off their electricity Some landmarks that did this are the Eiffel Tower, Empire State Building,and the Sydney Opera House.
In 2008 the second year that Earth Hour was a thing 50 million people participated. WWF says you should organize a candlelight dinner if you don’t know what to do without an electronic device for one hour . In 2017 187 countries participated in Earth Hour. Check out my FLIPGRID!!
