Rube Goldberg Project Post #4
Me, Emily, Sarina, and Carlie have done many steps in our process of building. We are almost done but we are facing a few problems with our machine. First we realized that gravity helps our machine a lot and our machine is starting to head towards the ground so we will need more gravity. Also if we redo our machine we will have a lot to do and work on. It is hard to create a machine with lots of gravity that is very big because if every part of the machine goes down that at the end you will end up with a part of your machine lying on the ground.
Our second problem is that we keep on repeating the same steps. For example, ramps. We are having trouble thinking of other objects that will help our machine and we think that ramps are pretty useful when it comes to building our machine. Some steps in a machine take a lot of work to make such as pulleys, and see-saws. We would use dominoes again in our machine but it takes a lot of work to set up and when you are setting dominoes ip they easily fall down and knock down all of the other dominoes in the path.
A final problem is that working together in a group of four is hard to coordinate a plan where everybody can come because everybody had different schedules. A way to fix this is that sometimes two or three people can get together every week while the others are doing an activity so at the end everybody will still do an even amount of work.
We are really excited about building more and we hope that we can fix our problems and make our machine the best that can be! Here is our video of our updated machine.
