Going to the PAC Meet

This year, in October, I went to the PAC Invitational Meet ( Pheonix Aquatic Club Christmas Invitational) for the first time ever. I was super nervous at first, but after warm up, I thought, maybe this won’t be as bad as I thought. The events that I was swimming were the 50 freestyle, 50 backstroke, 50 breaststroke, 50 butterfly, 100 freestyle, 100 backstroke, and the 100 IM. I swam these events over 2 days. In the 50 back, 100 back, and 100 IM, I got 2nd place. In the 100 and 50 free, I got first. When I was swimming, I looked over at the other lanes and I saw nobody next to me so I thought, I am totally going to lose this race so badly. And when I finished, I saw that no one was at the wall so I thought that I had lost. But actually, I had won by half a pool length. And so I go a pink clownfish because I won my heat. And in 50 breast I got 5th I think. When you go to a swim meet, you have to do something in between your events so that you don’t get bored. Some things that I do are watch other events. When somebody from Empire is swimming, my friends and I cheer them on. At the PAC Meet, my friend Kayla and I cheered so loud, that our coach told us to stop because we needed to save our energy for the races. Some other things we like to do is play on each others I-pads and talk. Sometimes, I like to just daydream! At the end of the meet you get the best feeling in the world, the feeling of accomplishment. When I was in the car driving home, I told my dad “At first, I was really nervous, but it actually wasn’t that bad!” Now, I will never be afraid to go to a new pool again. Thanks for reading!
