3D printing

Look around your house, you will see many things that a 3D printer has made. One thing in my house that I know that was made from a 3D printer is a plastic cup, plate and bowl. The main material used to 3D print with is plastic, but you can 3D print with so many other materials even chocolate! The way a 3D printer prints is by doing it in stacks. The printer will start from the bottom of the design and all the way up to the top.

Timber Harvest

If you asked me what changed over time about timber harvest you will hear one thing, technology. Over time timber harvest has had the same  process. It went cut down trees, put them in a pile, move them to a factory, and then the factory cuts the trees into different shapes for building. Over time technology has made it easier for this process, now in the factory it is all automatic, no person has to do any work do make the wood look good. I noticed that when they cut down bigger trees, they had to cut the trees even more so they would fit it the truck. Overall timber harvest has not changed much over tine, but maybe in the future we will see timber harvest change.

Blog Post 1 – Building

The word “build” has different meanings to everyone, to me I think that it means to put pieces together to make something. I have built tons of things in my life, but my favorite thing to build is legos. Whenever I build something I feel like wanting to finishing and when you’re done you get a feeling of accomplishment. When I am done building something I try to keep it together, but sometimes I wreck it and use the spare parts for other projects. I like building things because I think it is fun. IT is also something that you can do alone, with other people, and can be a challenge. Below is a picture of one of my biggest projects.

Final Blog Post

I chose to do the pong project. The hardest part about it was figuring out were to position the ball and the paddle. I am proud of how it came out and how I put the paddle and the ball in the right place. If I had more time I would make the maze.

I learned that my project was the same as others. Something that was awesome was that is said “lets go ponging and then my username”.

My favorite area of study was the swift playgrounds because it was simple and I did not struggle that much. Working from home had some benefits like waking up later, but it was hard to balance everything and also communicating with the teachers.

Learn to Code #2

As fun as Learn to Code is, it comes with many challenges. One challenge I struggle with is the little things like forgetting the parenthesis or not putting the do or if. The section that I struggled with the most is functions because of all the things you have to do. The hardest puzzle was Creating a New Function, because I did not know how to create the function. Luckily I did complete the puzzle, but it took be a very long time.

Commands

I liked learning commands. Most of the steps were moving forward, collect gem and turn left. Some bugs I had to fix was that when i turned i forgot to move forward so that ruined it. One strategy I used was walking the puzzle physically and put my movements in the box.

Music Video

After watching a few music videos I liked them all a lot. They all were different in there own way which I liked. I thought the music was upbeat and happy for most of the videos, and in mine too. I liked that the animation had sprites moving everywhere which was neat.

Code Stars

After watching the short film I was shocked to see that some of the richest people work with code. I think that code is worth millions of dollars, because of what it can do. It can create a website or even a car! Even that athletes like Chris Bosh can code it shocking. Given that 1.4 million people work with code, a large percent of them are making a living out of it. I thought It was a great film overall.
