The history of food

We used to be hunter gatherers, hunting for food, but then some lady found grain. Then came the agriculture revelution, and for some reason, instead of helping us, it made us sick and stuff, and we were a lot better of killing animals and eating meat, instead of grain, then we evolved to who we are today.

Friction sticks

Today in class we got these sticks and cloth. We were supposed to try to move the foil in the jar without touching it. We did this by rubbing the cloth on the the stick which creates friction to move the foil. Mine worked terribly and didn’t work at all.

In tennis there area 130 mile per hour serves, but how does that work? They started as long wooden rackets with a tiny frame. Those things could not hit that hard. But then they evolved, and it became a metal racket, still a tiny head and long but it was made out of steel. Then they made cow strings, then synthetic gut. After that they became the tennis rackets you see today.

A Long Walk to Water

I think that the book A Long Walk to Water was amazing. One of the parts that had the most impact on me was the part when Salva and his dad met up because they did not see each other for 19 years and they thought each other was dead and then they just meet up with each other. Also, I think the part when Salva gets pulled down in the water by the little boy to get saved by a bullet and the little kid was shot had a lot of impact on me too.

I think that the symbolism in this book is with the lost boys of Sudan. for example in the Long Walk to Water, there were planes from America that were going to take Salva from Sudan to America and in The Lost Boys of Sudan, they were going to take The Lost Boys From Sudan To America also when Salva never even saw snow before at all! Also, The Lost Boys of Sudan have never seen snow before at all either.

I think the author wants to convey never give up hope, for example, Salva almost got killed a lot of times but he never gave up hope so look where he is now. He didn’t lose hope when he swam across the river and a boy that was trying to save him died. Also, he did not lose hope when his uncle or his friend Mariel died.

Mile Run

One question that was on every single 5th grader’s mind is why oh why do we gave to run the mile run? It was late September when it was the mile run. It was a cold day. 5c was outside waiting and bam! Half the class was recording and half the class was running. Without any sign of tiredness, everyone sprinted the first lap than jogged the rest. According to Winston around his 5th lap, he was coughing due to Asma than finishes across the finish line! Ooh, Jonathan finished with a time of 7:17, According to Jonathan was proud and tired of his time he was also thirsty and sore. According to Gabriel, he felt awesome exited proud and other stuff. According to Winston and Schylaur, they felt horrible and bad. Uh oh someone threw up that can’t be good. After all, Asher says the mile run was horrible!
