My moon unit reflection

In the moon unit I learned lots of things. I learned that we have phases because the moon orbits around the sun and the sun shines on the moon different ways. I learned that constellations are stars that are together that make a shape like a Ryan, Little Dipper and  Big dipper. With Mrs. Kiley we did a project that we had a wooden ball on a stick and a flashlight the person who had the ball moved and the person who had the flashlight could not move so the sun would not move and when the moon moved we saw phases. I had a lot of fun blogging because we got to observe the moon and see how it changed. I learned that Saturn has 67 moons. I learned that earth has A protector that is like a bubble that keeps asteroids out of earth and does not let all the gasses out of the earth. Doing the moon blog I got to read my friends observations and comment on them. I went on a family trip to Utah and got to compare the moon at Utah to New York. The moon was a little diffrent because in the day you could see the moon in New York but in Utah you can not. It take 4 weeks for the moon to go around the earth. The moon Phases are New moon, Waxing crescent, First quarter, Waxing Gibbous, Full moon, Waning Gibbous, Last Quarter and Waning crescent. We read a book about the moon the first day to know a little if we did not know anything. With Mrs Kiley we did a project that we had paper to represent the moon, sun and earth and the we added clips that made it spin to get a better understanding of where the moon was at each phase. With Mrs Kiley we also watched Mystery Science videos I thought they were really interesting.

It was very fun studying the moon.

I think I want to be a scientist when I grow up.
