Capstone: Blog Post 2

During my capstone research project, I was assigned to get someone to interview to get a professional view on my topic (evolution of game design). This part of the research was quite interesting, and it was also a good chance to finally have some social interaction with a person that wasn’t from my class (not that the people in my class are boring).

After being told to interview someone, I tried thinking at first, maybe I could interview my brother! However, the interviewee was supposed to be professional in the subject I was researching, so I moved on from that idea and tried thinking of other people to interview. It was a little frustrating, mainly because not many people study the evolution of gaming design. Eventually, my dad suggested interviewing the teacher who was teaching people about Roblox coding and design as a summer camp, and thankfully the teacher agreed!

Before I conducted that interview, I had no idea what it might be like. However, the interview was really enjoyable. Yuni Xia, who I was interviewing, was extremely knowledgeable about games and their designs. She told me so many things about the gaming design, like how much the colors and graphics have changed over time.

Overall, I’m really happy I had the opportunity to be able to interview someone. I’m so excited for my final product of capstone with this new information!
