Week of 4/26

This week in Tech we worked on building cams. To do this, I used many resources, including videos and a packet of instruction. The process was pretty simple: First, I learned about different types of cams in class. Then, I got a paper with different shapes on it that I had to cut out. Next, I folded the cutouts and glues them so they formed 3D shapes. Lastly, I glued all of the pieces together and had a working cam! I enjoyed this week because I got to build something on my own.

Week of 4/19/21

This is the first week of tech. This week, we learned about simple machines, specifically levers. We learned about three different classes of levers. First, second, and third class levers. A first class lever is when the fulcrum is in the middle, a second class lever is when the load is in the middle, and a third class lever is when the effort is in the middle. To remember this, we used the rhyme FLE 123.

Week of 4/12

In this program, I tried to get to know the person using the code. Then I asked them about a restaurant they enjoy and more information about that. Something that was challenging when writing my code was fixing errors. Overall, I found this project interesting to create.

Week of 4/6/2021

In the “Everyone can code” video, I found one of the woman’s work interesting. She created a safe delivery app so that pregnant woman can have a safe delivery. I find this interesting because she wasn’t just making a fun game, she was creating an app to help other people. This is made possible by coding because she can create an app, and program it to help people. One of the men in the video said something about coding that I think is helpful as I think about writing code. He said that with coding, you can make anything possible and do anything.
