Making a light turn on

I watched the video and while I was watching it I was fallowing along with the video so I don’t mess up. I thought I was doing pretty good on it my bread board looked cool with all of the things on it. When i was done I put the battery on and the light did not turn on. I did not know why it did not turn on because mine looked exactly like the teacher so I went to get a new battery because it might just be the battery that I was using. When I got the new one I put it on the wire and it worked so I took a picture and submitted it.

Building my truss and design process

I got the materials and started building it looked pretty cool and smelled like food. I put the carrots on the end of the tooth picks and started forming a square. When I finished the square I put triangle with the tooth picks that it was done. Before I take a video of any project I need to test it first. So I went one by one putting books on the truss and it could hold a lot so than I new that is was time to video. I got my iPad and all the books and added them one by one and that the truss held and I was s0 happy.

My bread board project

I went into Schoology and pulled up the video. When the video started Mr. Calvert said that we can do our own design but I still copied him because I did not think I would do it the right way. So I got to work and than it was done, time to test. Then the middle yellow light did not turn on. I was so confused because I know I did the same thing as him but than I found out that the light was on and it was not really bright so I could not see it. So than I got another red light and then there were three glowing bright red lights on my bread board and I was so exited because it worked.

Process of my static electricity test

I started building I got a cup and i put a thin cardboard cutout on there top of the cup. I got a paper clip and tinfoil to make it. I put it all together and started testing. When I tested it, it did not work and I was really confused because I did everything the right way or I think, I did. Than I got really board and started rubbing the balloon and put it on top on my  sisters head and her hair was moving and I thought that was really cool.

The failure of my I beam

when I was making the ibeam I got a card board box and get to work. When I had all the pieces cut out abs used hot glue to put them together. That was done but I thought it might need some more sport so I put some painters tape one it. Than I got to testing I put six pounds in a bag and put the bag on the ibeam and the beam broke. So now I know I need to make it stronger or maybe more seaports on it. I got more cardboard and gut little strips and but them on the outside and than went to go test again. I put the bag on and it broke. So I went Back to cutting card board.

Technology in the BB core baseball bat

I really want to know the technology in the BB core bat. I want to know this because I really like baseball and i want to know why and how it is different from the normal USA bat that I use. I think this topic will be good and interesting to me because I really like baseball. The BB core bats are only used in collage and high school because they are considered illegal for little kids I  want to know about the technology in it so I will know how it is different. I am looking forward to researching about this topic.

Capstone blog post #2

I interviewed Dave Feuerstein because he knew a lot about baseball and he was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in 1995 in the 33rd round of the draft. He is the baseball coach of my baseball team so that is why I wanted to interview him. Another reason I wanted to interview him was that he had a long career in baseball and I thought he would be a good person to interview.

My main inquiry question is How has baseball changed over time? I needed some questions about it so I had to think of some that he could answer. Some of my questions were how have the rules in baseball changed from when you played to now, and what do you think the biggest changes in professional baseball are. Coming up with the questions was kind of hard because I needed sub-questions for my sub-questions so that’s what I think the hardest parts were.

In conclusion, the interview went great and he gave me a lot of information that I don’t think I could have gotten online so that was a big, big part of my capstone project and I think it will help me with my research.

Capstone blog post #1

Figuring out what my topic would be was not that hard because I really like baseball and I wanted to know more about the sport it’s self. When I picked the topic I needed to find out what the main question was going to be so I had to break down overall baseball into tiny things then I got my question. My question is (How have baseball techniques improved over time?) Then I had to dig even deeper into the topic to find smaller questions in the main question called sub-questions.

Now picking my sub-questions was actually harder because I had to find five different ones that had to do with How to have baseball techniques improved over time. Then I had things like how has pitching changed over time and I found all of my sub-questions. Overall I think the rest of the research will be fun because I picked something that I will enjoy because I really want to research baseball, and get to know the sport more.

Rocketry blog post 4#

We were about to launch and we were super excited to launch because we were really confident that our rocket will go higher than before. I was the count down person so I said 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Then the rocket went really high and I jumped back because I thought it would hit me. The next day we were finding out how high my rocket went so I did all the graphing and it went 37.5 meters and in feet it went 129 so we were really happy because our rocket went higher than the last one.
