As human beings, we often fight or are impatient when we can’t get what we want, or get what we want right away. In Disney Pixar’s animated short film Presto, this is exactly the case. A magician named Presto DiGiotagione and his Bunny, Alec Azam, get into a fight onstage when Presto won’t give Alec his carrot. When Alec doesn’t cooperate with Presto, and then he gets angry at him, it turns into a disaster.

I think the real lesson of this short film is that we don’t always get what we want exactly when we want it. Sometimes we have to wait, even when it can be hard to. Alec wasn’t patient with Presto, and he started to mess up the show by not putting the magic hat on so that the magician could do his magic trick. Also, when somebody doesn’t cooperate with you, you shouldn’t lose your temper right away, you should hear each other out and not get into a fight. Presto lost his temper when Alec wouldn’t put the hat on and charged him. In the end, Presto found himself falling a long way to his imminent doom. All because his white bunny wouldn’t eat a carrot! When you think about it, that is kind of a ridiculous problem to have. Alec still got what he wanted in the end, but couldn’t he have just waited? And couldn’t the magician have stayed calm and maybe even thought about Alec’s needs? This shows how arguing can cause problems, and sometimes those problems can be BIG.

Everyone should take this as an important message, because it doesn’t just apply to fancy magicians and stubborn rabbits. It applies to all of us! Because every human being fights, every human being is impatient at some point in their life. The world would be a much better place if all of us would just cooperate with each other. So what can you do to bring peace to earth?
