Blogging About My Blog

It is January 19th, 2017 and I got an assignment to blog about my blog. What that means is to write a blog that reviews my whole blog. I will write about including more interesting writing, more photos, and some more links. I think that I write enough, if I add some pictures, and add some links my blog will be amazing. I have a lot of writing, but I want to start to add some more pictures and links. I think that pictures and links are the main two things that I want to work on. But I will also try to add some more interesting writing into my posts. I will be working hard for everyone that reads my blog posts. I want to add some more “pizzazz” to my blog. I want it to be both more interesting and more fun to read. I also want it to be elaborative. I want my blog to have a lot of details so everyone can be interested.

If you have any suggestions on what I should work on please comment. I would love to hear some ideas. I want to have a better blog. I want everyone to be interested in it, including me.

Keep Calm And Blog On

Expert Lecture 6: What Is Genetics?

You might be asking yourself what is genetics. Genetics is your history and your family. When you map out someone’s genetics you pretty much map out their family tree/history. You can do people, book characters, movie characters, etc. Mrs. Hopkins came into our class and she is learning how to be a genetics counselor. She explained to us what she does. She helps women that are pregnant to see if the baby will be healthy and she helps people with cancer to know if it is severe or not. Mrs. Hopkins goes into the patients history and ancestry to learn more about the client.

In class Mrs. Hopkins did two stories. We did Star Wars, Luke Skywalker’s life, and Harry Potter’s life. They were interesting to learn how to make. If you know The Harry Potter series well you can look at this example. This is Harry Potter’s genetics:

Expert Lecture #4 : Ronald’s Dad

Ronald’s dad came into our classroom and talked about his love of science. He is a chemical engineer. He also taught us about super critical fluids. Super critical fluids are much denser than gas and much faster than liquid. There are three phases. The three phases are liquids, gases, and solids. He said that you only succeed only 10% of the time.

Ronald’s dad told us what different things used to not be good for people. Dry cleaners used to use to use bad chemicals, but now they use super critical CO2. And the way that coco beans used to be processed to make coffee was not good for people either. Now everything is okay because people have changed the chemicals that go into their products.

Thanksgiving Break In Genève

Have you ever been to Geneva, Switzerland? Do you want to go? During this weekend, for Thanksgiving break, I went to Geneva Switzerland. And it was super cool.

Sites

I got to go to the U.N. (united nations), CERN (discovers science), Nations (all of the flags in the united nations), The Red Cross and Red Cresent museum, and Old Town (Geneva in the 1200s). When I was at the U.N. I got to go on a tour. Our tour guide was explaining what the U.N. is and what they try to do. I was a little confused. When I was at CERN our tour guide explained what they do. I learned that at CERN they blow up particles and try to observe new ones. When I was at Nations we didn’t go in but I saw all of the flags of the United Nations. At the Red Cross and Red Crescent museum we got to go and hear about what the Red Cross and Red Crescent do and their goals. To get to the old town we had to hike up a big hill. The old town was Geneva, but in the 1200s.

Foods

I didn’t have a normal thanksgiving. I didn’t have the normal food that we would eat, but I did have some yummy foods and treats. From Tuesday to Sunday I didn’t really have a lunch. I had a burger one day, a dark chocolate crepe, and the rest of the time I forget what I had. For dinner I  had Italian food and entrecote steak. But vest of all, for dessert I got chocolate macaroons.

Public Transportation

Since we didn’t rent a car, we had to take the public transportation. In Geneva they have buses and trams. Trams are pretty much buses and trains. They look like a bus, but they go on tracks and are connected to wires. They have certain schedules. Sometimes I got bored when we had to wait for the buses and trams because we sometimes have to wait a long time for them to come.

The Jet and Mountains

There are some gorgeous sites from Geneva including the jet and mountains. the jet is pretty much a big water sprout that is in the lake. The mountains that surround Geneva are The Alps and The Jura. The tallest mountain that surrounds Geneva is Mount-Blanc. Mount-Blanc is 15,777′ tall. All of the mountains are gorgeous. I think that these two sights are beautiful and if you ever go to Geneva I encourage you to look at the jet and the mountains.
