7th grade tech blog post

Hey its me again and this is my last tech blog post. Tech seven was such an great experience, miss G made it so fun, we listen to music and had a playlist that we were allowed to play. It was also so fun to use paint glue and to have trials and see what worked and see what didn’t work. I also love spending time with my friends in class, tech seven was so fun and I hope to have as much fun in tech 8.

7th grade blog post #3

Hey I’m back and today I’m talking about decorating. My inspiration for my box is a jewelry box hopefully I’m gonna have all my friends sign it on the bottom for memorable moment. My design was to have two sides silver and two sides gold, fortunately Miss G had a silver paint pen that worked perfect, but there was a slight problem with the gold there was no gold so I used a copper and it turned out just how I wanted at the end of decorating I decided to put a clasp on my box and attach the box with hinges so that could open both ways. This was so fun and such a great experiment.

7th grade blogs #2

Hey Stella here and today I’m talking about the one we experimented with in class today. Today’s tech class was so fun we experimented with soft breakable wood and noticed that if you broke it one way it would crumble up to pieces but if you broke it the other way it would stay perfectly fine and have a line in the middle. This was so interesting and I’m hoping to learn more about it

7th grade tech bog post #1 (saws)

Hi I’m Stella and this is my first blog post as a 7th grader, today I will talk about what I have learned in 7th grade tech so far. This year we started off with a conversation about saws and different types of wood, I was assigned the bow saw, it was a fun and interesting experience to learn about the different types of saws and how they cut into wood so different. For example the bow saw is used to cut very thick wood such as on trees and stumps although the coping saw is much smaller and used to cut smaller wood such as wood working wood or thinner wood. In all the first unit of technology was very fun and interesting I am looking forward to the next units and what we study.

Computer tech video

When mr.Rose told us to watch this video I had no idea what it was about, of course I assumed coding but the video was more than that it was a lesson. A lesson about how you don’t have to be smart to be good at coding and its true that applies to Everything for example you don’t have to smart to be good at chess or to be good at anything. Just give it your best shot and I promise you, you will succeed.

About Me

This project was very fun and I thought that it was a good project to start of with. Since we are in quarantine it is a bit different and it is harder to understand what he wants us to do. Although zooms and email have helped greatly so that mr.Rose can answer any questions that we have about the project. One reason why I like this project is because is so that people can learn some background about me (hence the name). This project was super fun and I hope y enjoy what I made.

How I transferred energy this weekend

This weekend I have done a lot of things such as go on the treadmill and peloton. These both have some kind of energy in this case, both are mechanical and kinetic energy. This transferred energy because when you plug in the treadmill or peloton energy is transferred from the outlet to the machinery. Another way I transferred energy this weekend was that I charged my phone, this is transferring energy because when you plug in your phone the wire sends a signal to the outlet to start charging the phone. A final way I transferred energy this weekend is that I turned on the stove to make pasta this is a form of thermal energy and It transverse energy because when you turn on the stove the fire comes up and transverse the energy from the stove to the pot.

What is energy?

When you think of energy you would usually think of the lights, right? Energy is the ability to work.

There are many types of energy such as potential and kinetic energy, these are the most popular or important types of energy because they have a big impact on a lot of things. Potential energy is the energy of things stored in a object, on the other hand kinetic energy is the energy of moving objects. But potential and kinetic energies are not the only ones there are also energy’s such as elastic energy, thermal energy, chemical energy, nuclear energy and many more.

We get our energy from the sun, from fuels and movement. There is both renewable and non renewable energy sources. The renewable ones we always have more off, like sun and wind. The non renewable might run out one day, like gas, oil and nuclear energy.

In conclusion, Energy is everywhere and we should never take it for granite.

Projects

We have done so many projects over the first quarter such as: our solder pieces, atoms, self driving cars, breakout and waterproof flashlights. My favorite project is the flashlight because we got to have fun and we got to use all of the cool materials such as: the hot glue gun, the solder machine and the saws.
