Great Wall of China

I have been looking forward into studying The Great Wall and I always wanted to know more about it ever since I went there last summer.  at first I had a little trouble finding books and resources about it but now I understand it better. I am not quite done with my research yet, but here are some of the facts that I have collected so far on my topic:
  • the supplies used were rocks, bricks, rice powder, reeds, and soil.
  • It was Qin Shi Huang who ordered people to build this wall
  • There were about one million laborers that built this wall
  • As many as 300,000 workers died and many were buried within the wall itself.
Hope you enjoyed this post! 😉

Burglar Break

Hi guys!

So at recess Carly, Sophie, and I started chasing Katelyn and then we started making up this game because then we started to chase Jenny and Chloe L .

How you play Burglar Break is there are 3-4 burglars/criminals and the rest are catchers or guards. The catchers catch the burglars and bring them to the jail where the guards guard them in case they escape. Sometimes if another burglar is not tagged and you are on your way to the jail ( if you are a burglar), that burglar can try to get you free by pulling you away from the catchers grasp. Also if you are lucky enough, you can sneak away if the guard of the jail is not watching. When all of the burglars are caught and put into jail, the game is over.

I played with Jenny, Chloe L., Sophie, Lotus, Carly, Katelyn, and Elizabeth and it was really fun.

Hoped you like this post! 🙂

Chinese New Year

Hi everybody! So today I am going to be posting about Chinese New Year. Chinese new Year was on the 16th of February. I missed school that day because Chinese new year is a very important holiday for my family and many other families. In China, it is a day to spend time with family members.

My family had a Chinese New Year dinner party with all of our closest friends. It was really fun. Also we got to stay up late because it was Chinese New Year. before the dinner party though, we watched a CCTV Chinese New Year Gala on TV.

Hope you ENJOYED this post! 🙂

Our New Pet Rabbits

Its been quite a while since I’ve blogged last. This time I will be talking about my new pets. We got the  baby rabbits a week and a half ago, but when we got them they were already about a month old.

When my dad said that we were going to get pet rabbits, me and my sister did not believe him. We were so excited when we found out that we were actually getting them.

Now that we have them, their names are Butterscotch ( his nick name is Butter) and Cream Cheese. Mine is Butterscotch and my sister’s is Cream Cheese. They are both white so we tell them apart by their sizes and their reaction when we pick them up.

Here is a photo of Cream Cheese and Butterscotch sitting together in their cage:

The one at the left is Cream Cheese and the one at the right is Butterscotch.

Hope you ENJOYED this post and liked my other posts! 🙂

Writing Celebration

Today we went to visit our buddies. This is their 2nd writing celebration and we got to celebrate it with them. A few weeks ago they were writing their stories and i was really looking forward to hear/look at it.

Molly’s story is about her ski trip.  she went to Utah to ski and visit her grandparents, aunt and she went there to celebrate Christmas. Her favorite part about her ski trip was when she decided to go on the blue trail ( she must be way better than me if she can go on the blue trail).

Her second favorite part was when she got to celebrate her mom’s birthday before Christmas eve. She even got to eat ice cream sundaes at her grandparents house! Lucky her! Today I learned that Molly’s grandparents live in Utah.

Molly is very brave when she went skiing because she did not cry when she fell down. She actually liked when she fell down I think this story is about bravery. I really liked her story and it was really detailed. Molly’s  spelling is  also really good I really enjoyed her story. Molly says,  “I’m proud of it because it only took me 4 days to make it.”

ENJOY! 🙂 and hope you like it!

5 Facts On South Africa

Here are 5 facts on South Africa that I learned and that you may not know.

  1. In the entire continent of Africa, there are less than 25,000 rhinos left. There are only that much left because animal hunters hunt them a lot.
  2. In SA the most used language is English.
  3. In SA, before 1994, all the presidents were white.
  4. Nelson Mandala was the first balck president in SA.
  5.  SA has three capital cities which are Cape Town (We are there right now!), Pretoria, and Bloefontein.

South Africa Safari

On the 23rd of December, we went to a Safari in South Africa for Christmas break and it was really fun. The bad news was that we had to wake up at 4:00 AM because the animals would not come out if it was too hot. The safari was in Kruger park and it was really hot. Also, the place we slept in was sort of like a tree house except it was a tent and had bugs crawling all around it. The shower place was not really private because there was no doors to and the place had no doors and was really  weird.  I hated that place even though the food was pretty good.

Here are some of the pictures that my mom took on the trip:

We also saw 3 turtles, a lot of impalas, a few rhinos, 2 hippos, 4 baboons, 1 lion, 2 boars,  I recommend going there or in George,  South Africa . That day we also went to third largest canyon (Bryde Canyon) in the world. It is also the most green one in the world.

Molly’s Masterpiece

As you all know, I have already made a post about my wonderful buddy in kindergarten, Molly. Check out what one of her masterpieces are! 🙂

This is one of Molly’s many masterpieces. I think that it has a lot of color and style in it. I really like this one because in the middle circle, there is a lot of small swirls. I think that makes her drawing very unique.

My Buddy

Hi everybody! I’m back! Today I’m going to talk about my buddy, Molly. Molly is a kind girl and is very smart . Even though she is younger than me, she raises her hand way more then I do . She is in a younger grade than me and is very smart . Even though she didn’t know all of the words, she still was able to retell the story .

I also really like Molly because every time I see her, she is wearing a different hairstyle which always is matching whatever she is wearing . Her mom or who ever helps her choose clothes, sure has a good taste in picking clothes .

One more reason I like her is because all her projects and writing she has showed me and Katelyn are all very detailed and colorful . In one of her pieces, she wrote about when her house was under construction. I really liked all the effort she put in just one drawing of a worker carrying a table. I also like how she did not finish everything, but already knew what she was going to write already.
