This is such a sad poem. I hope the girl eventually learn how to stay happy not by getting some toy she wanted but by having great company (friends/families) and having lots of love in her life.
I agree with you and I think that even though she did not like what she got, she still has a lot of other things that some people don’t have. And that she has her family and friends when some people don’t have any.
