Reading “Night”

Reading “Night” makes me so anxious and sad; it is scary to read how sick and cruel people can be, and how scared and abused Elie Wiesel and all of those who were put in concentration camps were. I didn’t want to continue after reading about the babies being thrown into the fire alive.

The Story Of Anne Frank

Anne Frank Was A Jewish Girl During WWII and she wrote a diary of her experience Hiding from the nazis and is a famous book now a basic summary of this story is

Anne Frank and her family are Jewish, and once the Nazis take control of Germany, the family is in danger. Anne Frank and her family go into hiding in a secret annex attached to a food factory. Anne and her family will spend two years in the annex; during this time, they’re unable to leave the building because of the risk of being captured by the Nazis.

#6 working on my final product

Well after weeks of deciding or in my opinion one minute I decided to do a Ted talk because I think ignites explain you main inquiry but I had too much information for each topic and there was a number of sides that were required so I could do all my questions with some long and some short so that’s why I did a Ted talk, I did make it the best I can but I made it better than I thought!Although I was worried about how I only had one week I did really good! the script, in my opinion, was hard so that took maybe just as long.  I thought I would have a long time but one week was enough so…  My final product will be amazing in my opinion I think I chose the right option for me because it is flexible and free you I could do a lot of thing with only the required time which is 4-8 minutes I am very proud of my work and I think this was the best presentation for me and I got a lot of work done.

Here is my presentation

The Sight Visit #4

The site visit was my second favorite part of capstone so far. As for my interview, it was at the same place, 107.1 the peak and my tour guide was the same Scarsdale’s number one DJ, Jimmy Fink. I did not learn as much as the interview but it was all a success.

107.1 The Peak

I went there for the info I always wanted to go somewhere for school I like field trips and this was like one but I was in charge of it.I loved it tough and I hope there’s more.

I saw the transmitter. Which is when they are done editing the file of their voice and ready to put on the air they put that file into the transmitter and plays on 107.1 The Peak, that radio station pacifically also shares the tower with the police, but radio towers are shared though. I also saw the CD room when they used to use CD’s it was pretty amazing it was probably an 11-foot wide room and on the wall was covered in shelves full of CDs and another that took up half of the room also covered in CD’s it was the most CD’s I ever saw.

I also saw the cubicles for salesman to sit and I thought they were cool , I wondered what do the salesman do and what do they sell if they work for a radio station but I never asked, so I never got an answer but that’s one of my least concerns because it was not related to my topic though. My site visit was amazing and I really really hope to have more experiences like that.

The Interview #3

The interview so far is my favorite part of capstone. For my interview I chose Scarsdale’s number one DJ Jimmy Fink. It was a fun interview and sight visit, I asked him mostly personal questions, but I got a lot of information.  I learned about the studio itself and  about him as a DJ. I learned how in college he got a job as a DJ and how that started his career, he said tech changed a lot in the studio and made his job easier.

Jimmy says he likes his job a lot and it is not that hard, but he said he would not recommend the job though. He did tell me he is never live he records in advance so he can edit his recording and make it the best it can be like I heard him record him for the radio and it will stream in June.

It was so fun and he had amazing stories about his life, he said what’s good about the studio is theres only 12 people that work there unlike others, others have up to 50.

He also said how they play a lot new songs and do no repeat, but the CD’s are now on computers due to the technology and they have on CD play but thats to upload them to the computer. Jimmy also told me about segways and sweeper, which are 5 second pauses between songs.  They use them when people hear their radio they would always know what station they were listening to. Segways are just the song comes right after the other with no sweeper. He said that interviews are not at the studio. They are on the phone or they go to the person. Other than that my interview was the best I could imagine. I loved it and I hope to have more memories like this.

Capstone #2 main questions and sub questions and the change of plans

as my EDM focus I am doing the recording studios in the events that happened I found great interviews such as jimmy fink on 107.3 the peak and decided to do the main focus even broader I decided to do recording studios not recording studios for EDM I am very exited and exited to meet the people I interview. My sub questions are:

What things do you need to start your own home recording studios?

What skills do you need to be a professional recorder?

How have recording products evolved and what tool is most common?

what are some of the most famous recording studios?

how are recording studios made soundproof?

Capstone #1

For my project I am doing EDM music. EDM stands for electric dance music. This type of music is usually played by a DJ.  Here are some EDM composers you might know, Marshmello, DJ snake, Deadmau5, and the Chain smokers.  Its upbeat and unknown but is growing overtime. Michael was the inspiration for this music and known for starting it.

Rube Goldberg #5

It was super fun! even though I felt like I was about to die Jose came over at 12:00AM and he left at 10:00PM I was sooo tired though?. But it was worth it we time lapsed the building and it looked cool I would like to not and do it again the no part of it is I was so tired as I said and the fails but building it with my friends was amazing during the project me and Jose kept saying “we could of not did this alone”. the good thing is that we changed the dominos to smaller ones and that’s how we got the win.

Rube Goldberg#4 the awful fails :{

Of course there will be fails in this project so we went up to about 28 fail the 29th was the star⭐ are objective was to pour ice into a glass and water I got angry and I said “I am pouring water into the glass to pour into another I just did my objective in less than a minute!” it took us twelve hours but we finally did it I was so happy I was soooooooo tired. These are the materials we used

  • Gun {Nerf}
  • Car
  • Weage
  • Ramp
  • DVD’s
  • Dominos
  • String
  • Ball
  • Water
  • Track
