  WEEK AT A GLANCE

Image result for inspiring quotes for teachers and staff

Dear Colleagues,

We had some really great conversations during our ELA and Math Committee meetings this week. Be sure to check in with your grade level reps to get details. Several of you mentioned how much you enjoyed the Grade Level Metamorphosis conversations this week. I would like to think about ways in which we can continue these conversations and have opportunities for continued exposure to some of the practices. There is a lot of buzz about the work in Literacy and Math, which is great for driving our conversations on Superintendent’s Conference Day and our upcoming School-based Grade level meetings. On that note, please be sure to share your ideas for Superintendent’s Conference Day on the document shared with you below.

After a busy week, I hope you find time to relax this weekend.  It also seems perfect for apple picking!  Whatever you do, Enjoy!

Warmly,
Sharon

ANNOUNCEMENTS

PT Conferences: Parents will be notified of conferences via PTC Wizard on Monday 10/22 at 4:00 p.m. You should have already created your schedule on PTC Wizard. If you have not done so, please do so as soon as possible. Prior to Monday, be sure to inform your parents of times that will be available for scheduling conferences outside of the window offered on the 3 half days.

Superintendent’s Conference Day:  In preparation for Superintendent’s Conference Day, please see the link.

F&P Assessment Window closes on 10/26. All entries should be submitted in ODMS. It has come to my attention that some teachers are missing books from the F&P Third Edition kit.  During our discussion at the ELA Building Level Committee meeting two documents were created (Inventory 1)  (Inventory 2) to allow us to take inventory so that we may replenish books as is necessary.  Keep in mind the books are very costly ( $10- $11 per book) so please take the time to look around and locate any books that might be missing.  Also if you have extra books just place them in Sharon’s mailbox so they can be redistributed before placing an order for new copies.

Flu Shots Reminder: Please see the calendar for specific dates and times.

A Bus Drill will take place on 10/23.  Please be sure you have signed up your class for participation.

Deb’s Bench dedication is tentatively scheduled for June 17th, the day after her birthday at 3:30 p.m.  As the time approaches further details will be provided.

Mandated Training deadline is fast approaching – November 2nd. Please be sure to see Drew’s email sent on August 1st.

Two new teacher aides have joined Greenacres.  They are Renee Cutaia (2nd and Kgn) and AudreAnne Foster (Gr. 4).  Please join us in welcoming them to our school.

Light the Night Walk: Let’s show our support for Lucille as she participates in the annual Light the Night Walk in support of research on Leukemia and Lymphoma.  Lucille placed a copy of the tear-off form in your mailboxes. She would appreciate your contributions. The walk takes place on November 3rd, 2018.
