 WEEK AT A GLANCE

A teacher takes a hand, opens a mind and touches a heart. Inspirational quotes for teachers - - #Educations

Dear Colleagues,

It’s the final WAAG of the year!!! I can’t believe it!  Congratulations on all the accomplishments you and your learners have made this year. Flag Day was wonderful last week – Thanks to Lindsey for a fabulous program. Yesterday’s Moving Up Ceremony was very special as it always is. Best of all, we successfully transitioned from the traditional evening ceremony to the morning instead.  One of the highlights of the ceremony was the Paulie Jimenez Award. This year’s recipients were Natalie Diaz and Joseph Pappalardo. The fifth-grade teachers all agreed these students were most deserving of the award as they exemplify the kind, caring and hard-working person Paul was.

As you prepare to make your exit on the final day of school,  I hope you can smile with a deep sense of gratification for all you accomplished with your students. It’s been ten wonderful months of teaching, thinking, listening, turning and talking, questioning, reflecting, sharing and growing. In the midst of all the ups and downs of the year, I hope you had moments that made you smile and laugh out loud with your students, with colleagues and even with yourself.  I hope you had many moments when you felt really gratified by the fact that you are a teacher – one of the most important, honorable and satisfying vocations.  We are all so fortunate to have found this path that makes our yesteryears matter and allows us to touch tomorrow. Thank you for all you have done to make this the wonderfully successful school year it has been.

I am looking forward to our Clap Out on Wednesday when we say our goodbyes and honor our fifth graders as they take their final lap along the corridors of our school. In the meantime, enjoy this weekend of sunshine, a prelude to the start of your summer with many more sunny days to come.  Enjoy the final days of the school year and I wish you all a wonderful summer.
