ANNOUNCEMENTS

Grade Level Grants: Please be sure to complete your grade level grant applications by Friday, October 4th.

Music Room Switch: Making the switch appeared to be seamless, thanks to everyone.  There is just one minor tweak: when dropping off your students, Lindsey is asking that you go directly into the classroom instead of waiting in the hallway.

Faculty Snack and Kitchen Duty Schedules have been added to the GA Faculty and WAAG calendars. Please be sure to add a separate event with a reminder to your own calendars.  These will no longer be added each week to the WAAG Announcements. If you need help please see Lynne.

Rescue Window Cafeteria – The rescue window in the cafeteria is now equipped with steps on the exterior of the building to allow students safe exit in the event of an emergency.

Light The Night Walk: Each year Lucille participates in this fundraiser benefitting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s mission for a cure. The walk will take place on Saturday, October 26th. Please see Lucille if you would like to support her fundraising efforts or if you would like more information.

GREENACRES GALLERY

Students in Liz and Jaime’s 5th and 3rd-grade classes engage in narrative small group partnerships. Check out the strategies being taught.

Noam taught Amanda and Anya how to “Find and Elaborate the Heart of Your Story”. (Noam made the chart to help teach and as a tool for his writers to keep.)

Seido taught Ella and Saira how to “Tell the Story from the Inside”. He coached them to incorporate specific details by making a movie in their mind of their narratives and tell it bit-by-bit.

Caroline helps Annabelle verbally rehearse and then plot her story along a story mountain.

Max showed Mark and Ethan how to use a story mountain as a tool for revision. He modeled plotting his narrative along the mountain and using it to story-tell each part to bring forth the meaning.
