Dear Colleagues:
It has been a fabulous week at Greenacres! Our Multicultural Event on Tuesday, representing more than 70 countries, was just spectacular and an evening of pride and joy. The displays were amazing with lots of interesting facts and invitations to experience the tastes and flavors of the many different cultures represented in our school. The Scarsdale High School Dance Club, coached by Maggie Bryant, was also a highlight of the evening. The dancers presented a variety of cultural dances in the gymnasium. Dr. Patrick, Dr. McIntosh and Ron Schulhof (President – Scarsdale Board of Education) attended the event and were very impressed with the exhibits and the enthusiastic spirit of the evening. Thanks to our PTA for organizing this wonderfully successful event!
Thanks again to the PTA for supporting the Anti Bullying assembly. The message is very relevant and was presented in a fresh and entertaining way.
The Earth Day Assembly was lovely! What a special treat it was for our kindergarteners and first graders to perform – they sang beautifully! Thanks to Dr. Blackhurst for preparing them and special thanks to Nick and our Green Team for arranging and presenting another wonderful Earth Day program.
I hope you enjoyed the Blue Ribbon Sign Reveal. It was a wonderful way to start the day and a great way to launch our spring break. Thanks to our District facilities team for installing the sign and to our GA custodian staff for all the preparations they made this week in support of all the events that took place.
Sharon and I had a very busy day spent resolving some student related matters and did not get a chance to poke our heads into classrooms to wish everyone an enjoyable week off. We wish everyone a safe, relaxing and rejuvenating spring break.
Wishing a Happy Passover to all who are celebrating!
