In the book Refugee all the characters had to leave there home. Josef left his home because of Hitler and he did not want to die or get sent to a consecration camp. Isabel left her home because of people attacking agents dictators and they do not want to get hurt or go to jail. Mahmoud is fighting agents the government because they are not being treated fairly the left because of the danger where they live.
