Summary:

Alysa Liu is a very talented figure skater. At the Geico U.S. Women’s Figure Skating Championships held in Detroit, Michigan, Alysa made history again with a perfect triple axel in the short program and 8 triples in the free skate. She was the first-and youngest women to ever land 3 triple axels is competition and 2 in one program. At first Alysa was second with Bradie Tennell in the lead but the following day, Tennel fell while attempting a Triple Lutz.                                                   Even though Alysa had a stunning performance at the competition she will not be able to compete in the 2019 World Figure Skating Championships in Saitama, Japan because of the minimum age requirement of 15. She will also not be able to compete in the 2019 World Junior Figure Skating Championships in Zagreb, Croatia because she is 5 weeks too young! But, Alysa said “I’m not too worried about that part because I get more time to work on my jumps, skating skills, spins, and just trying to learn more.”

Alysa started skating at 5 years old and fell in love with it when she first took lessons at The Oakland Ice Center.
