My Audition!!

I was shaking so much! It was my first big audition! I was auditioning for a play done by Random Farms for the first time. When I saw the door swing open and the director call everyone to audition, I nearly feel off my chair! My mom said goodbye to me, but I didn’t want her to leave me here with these new people. I just smiled, and tried to be brave all by myself. I lined up and with all the other kids auditioning and the director took attendance. Finally it was my turn to say my name. I looked up into her gleaming eyes, and said in a shaky voice, “Samantha.” She looked down into my eyes and we made eye contact. She smiled and said “Well hello Samantha. Go and take a seat inside.” I quickly went inside and saw kids getting their pictures taken. Not too long after it was my turn to get my picture taken. It was very hard to smile at a time like this, but I managed to anyway. After that I took a seat, and not too long after that I hear the director call, “Samantha!” I looked up and saw it  was my time to audition! I walked up to the line where the director wanted me to stand. I then heard the music start, and I finally found my mouth and sang the first note of the song perfectly.

Immigration Podcast

Meet my brother’s friend Valentina.  Valentina came to America when she was in sixth grade.  She likes it here very much, and someday wants to raise a family here, but if she had the choice she wouldn’t go back to Brazil. She has lots of family there so it is hard for her to want to stay in America.  “Valentina finally has a place to call home.”

State Test!

Today I had the State Test! I was freaking out! All of my friends were telling me it didn’t matter, and that you won’t even find out the scores. I tried to come myself down, but everyone was talking about it! When I hear the words, “State Test,” I get bad feeling in my stomach.

Once the test was over I felt better done with the test, but I would definitely do it again if my friends would support me.

Jumping To Win Winter Games

As you can tell by my title, the Winter Games happened. My team didn’t win but it was a fun experience and that is all that matters. My favorite part about the Winter Games was the jump roping competition. I remember everyone cheering my name “Samantha!” I tightened my grip on my jump rope. Then all the cheering stopped when I heard a whistle blow, and I was off! I jumped slow at first because I didn’t want to ware myself out. After a while of jump roping I got tired, and there was nothing I could do but keep jumping. The couch started the count down, “10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1!” Then the couch blew the whistle again and shouted “Stop!” After that couch announced who got the most jumps out of the four kids, and it was me!

Me singing!

That is me singing “Part Of Your World,” from the movie “The Little Mermaid.” I was very nervous at first, but after a while on stage I felt less nervous. My family was also there to support when I was on stage. At the end I was so proud of myself that I did it.

Tips For Writing Songs

When you first want to write a song, you have to think about what the song is going to be about. For example, when you are trying to write a story, you can’t write the story if you don’t know what the story’s going to be about.

The second tip is to think of a title for the song and then think of words that go with the title. If  you are writing a song about ” ice cream,” you want to think about words that describe ice cream.

The third tip is to think of the tune of the song. For example when I write a song I think about all of the tunes that would go with the song.  For example, if it is an upbeat song then the tune should be faster. If the song is meant to be more serious then the tune should be slower.  The last tip is to revise the song a lot of times till it seems right. When the song makes sense and when the words in the song explain what the title is, then you are finished.

Three Important Singing Tips

This post I am going to be talking about three important singing tips. The first tip is to warm up because it helps get your voice moving. For example, when someone is going to play in a soccer game they need to warm up to get moving. The second tip is to stand up straight because it is not easy to sing if you are crouched over. The third tip is to not be shy and don’t care what other people think about your singing.You don’t want to be shy because than no one will hear you so, you want to be loud and project your voice. You also don’t want to think about what other people think because who cares if they don’t think your a good singer. It only matters about what you think about your voice.
