Morning Word Problem

Please solve this word problem in your math workbook (page 110) and explain how you got your answer in the comment section.

Justin has 1,200 stamps. 860 of them are U.S. stamps. The rest are Canadian stamps. How many more U.S. stamps than Canadian stamps does he have?

I did this because 1,200 is the total amount of stamps and 860 is the total U.S. stamps. Then I subtracted 340 from 860 and got 520. I did this because I needed to know how many more U.S. stamps than Canadian stamps he has.

T hen I did 8 and 11 and got 340 then I did 860 subtracted by 340 and got 520.
