Maggies Door

Last week, I read a book about 2 immigrant named Nory and Sean, and there family. It is a book about 2 family thriving to stay alive and get to Brooklyn, New York. If you like adventures, this is the book for you. But there are a lot of characters, so for some people it can be hard to keep up. Maggie Door is a great book and I recommend it.

The Orphan of Ellis Island

The Orphan of Ellis Island is a great book. This book is about a kid named Dominic who is an orphan but doesn’t want people to know. One day when Dominic and his class went on a field trip to Ellis Island he wondered off and ended up taking a little nap in a closet and before he new it, he had already traveled back in time to the year 1908. If you like adventure or time travel this book would be a perfect book for you.

The Orphan of Ellis Island, Book review

The Orphan of Ellis Island is a phenomenal book.  It’s about a boy named Dominic. Dominic is an orphan, his parents both died when he was a baby.  During his class trip to Ellis Island there is a part where the guide is asking questions but he doesn’t want to answer them, so he hide from the group. Then Dominic travels back in time to Italy.  This book teaches you to be thankful for family. I would highly recommend this book especially if you like adventure and time travel.

What might happen if there were no rules, laws or government?

Imagine you live on an island far away.  There are no rules, no laws, and no government.  There is no one to tell you what to do.

  1. Would anyone have the right to govern you? Would you have the right to govern anyone else? Why?
  2. Would you have any rights? What might they be?
  3. What might people who were smarter or stronger than others try to do? Why?
  4.  What might people who were not as smart as others or who were weaker than others try to do? Why?
  5.  What might life be like for  you, your family and everyone else in a state of nature?

Why We Give

Sometimes when we give to others, we receive even more in return. Watch this video. Try not to cry, then think of a time when you or someone you know made a sacrifice or did a good deed for the benefit of someone else. Briefly write about this time. Try not to cry.
