Preparing The Spark Video – Interview #4

One day, we went to see Mr. Casal and we made 2 Google Docs. They were organizers for the Spark Video, and we would write our narrations, the text on the slide, and the image on the organizer, even if we didn’t have one. We also numbered our slides, and wrote what would be put on each slide, and I had about 14 slides.

Next, there were many restrictions to the video, like no more than 5 minutes long, and each slide can’t show for more than 10 seconds each. We also had to make good choices with the music, and it had to fit with the mood of the immigrant’s story.

Our slide had to be in the format of a story, like each slide depends on a part of the story of the immigration. It was hard to find the right order of the slides, but I eventually figured out an order I thought was pretty good and fit with the format.

The hardest part was finding the right thing to narrate for the story, because it’s been so long since the real interview, I couldn’t really remember some of the things my dad said, so I had to go back to the actual interview video and find good narrations for each of my slides.

Still, Mr. Casal said if you do the organizer first, the slideshow would actually be a lot easier.
