Otamata’s!!!

This week in tech we are going to be making otamota’s. We watched a video about a man who makes otamota’s for a living. An otamota consists of many parts one of them being a follower. Two of my ideas where to firstly make a man peeking over a brick wall with his fingers gripping onto it. The other idea was a lumberjack cutting a piece of wood off a tree. I am currently cutting my box and making my cam it is going to be a long process but In the end it will be worth it.

Flashlights!!!!!

For the past two weeks we have been designing, making, and coloring  our flashlights. At the start of this project we had to design a our flashlight and draw a picture in proportion the real thing. Then we had to draw where our wires, battery, and switch would be. After that we down and dirty, because we then sawed the pvc pipes that was measured. Later we soldered our circuit together, this part of class for me was the most challenging. After our circuit and pvc pipes were ready i started to assemble my flashlight! It is kind of shaped like a boomerang for easy usage and to store it in my pocket. Finally when everything was finished i colored the flashlight with many colors to make it more visible in darker areas.

Switches and solder person!

For the past three days of technology  we have been working on two projects one being to make three switches and to a make a solder person out of wire and soldering his body to his arms to make him look like he’s doing something. My three switches were unique in very different ways, but i have only completed one and in the process of making my next. My first one was a a spring made out of pipe cleaners and my conductor was at the end of the spring, to use this switch you have to slap or push the spring to make it bend Down and hit the tin foil under it. The second one is an elevated lolI stick which needs to be flicked to hit the tin foil bump under it to work. The last switch is one I’m not sure of what to make but I’ll figure something out. Finally my solder person was made so he could look as if he was in p.e and doing jumping jacks.

Circuits!

Earlier this week in class we had a mini workshop day and we made circuits using battery’s, light bulbs, wires, and switches. Firstly when we walked into the classroom we sat down and watched a video of a person making switches and using the switches to play a cards game. We later then after the video started to brainstorm ideas of switches. I came up with a switch that has two elevated sides with a straw in. The middle that when you flick hits a tin foil bump on the bottom and makes the bulb light up.

My new laptop! ( I’m potentially getting)

For my 12th birthday I’m most probably getting a laptop to go. This laptop is made by Alienware. I wanted  to purchase this laptop because of its core i7, that’s a lot of damage! This Alienware m15 laptop has amazing graphics for high quality gameplay (1080hp). The main games that I’ll play on this laptop are; sea of thieves, fortnite, call of duty blackout, and finally over watch. But i also need headphones and a mouse to go with it, this mouse is super light and comes in Florencent  colors like Florecent red and green. This mouse is called the ninja air 52 and is a good and affordable mouse. Now my headset, this model is called the aw998, and is one of the best headsets out, in my opinion. It is noise cancelling and fits around your for amazing audio.

Mrs.More interview!

Yesterday Mrs.More came to our class to share with us her adventures to save the elephants lives from ileagal poachers. When i entered technology yesterday Mrs.More was sat and ready with her precious jewels and stones. For the first minute of class we meditated, which she says helps her consentrate for a very long time when working with precious stones and jewels. Her main purpose for her visit was to show us an alternative material for ivory. She showed us a special nut which only grows in tropical climates like eqador and Peru 🇵🇪. This nut is called the ‘tagwa’ nut and it has almost the identical characteristics ivory does shown by a chart. She handed out her jewels for us to examine and pass around. At the end of the class we talked about how we as kids could make a difference in the world and we all shared our ideas of how we were going to do it. I got fascinated by her story to save the elephants so I decided to make it my duty to save the white tigers and rhinos, because they are both endangered and domesticated by humans.

This is the tagwa nut before pealing it and using the nice white material inside.
