This week in technology we were making circuits on our breadboard. The first step for me was to cut and strip 8 wires 4 wires of a positive charge and 4 wires of a negative charge. This was actually one of the biggest challenges of the project because the wires where really small and it was hard to get any leverage on them at all. Then I had to get my 9 volt battery, resistor, led lights, and the wires. Then all I had to do was put it together. Overall this was a great week and I had fun!

This week in technology we learned how to use a wire cutter/stripper. The project was we had to cut 4-inch wires then strip 1/4 to 1/2 an inch of the ends of it. I had trouble with this because my wire stripper was on a low setting, and it was hard to strip so I got a screwdriver to adjust but then that didn’t work so I just ended up doing it on the same setting. Overall this week was interesting challenging and fun!

This week in techno0lology we are learning about cranks. One example of a crank that you might not know about is in your car engine the pistons are moved by cranks! We also built our own cranks, when I started it, it seemed like a daunting task. But I overcame the challenges and ended up making a successful crank! Overall this was a great and interesting week!

This week in technology we were putting our knowledge of cams to use. We used the cams to make a mini autamotaun that moves something up and down. When i made this I hade some issues such as it would go up but not come down. I solved this by putting mini weights where the stick was. This was really fun trying to figure out my issues and how to fix them. Overall this week of technology was very very fun!

This week in technology we learned about wheels, axels, and cams. It was really fun because it was a lot of simple machines! WE got to build a catapult with a game to go along with it. I made a very simple catapult made out of popsicle sticks and rubber bands. My game was that you have to try and knock down cups while using the catapult, this was a very hard game. Overall this was a great week for technology!

This week in technology we are learning about triangles and trusses, the project we had to do is we had to make a structure using trusses and triangles. What I did for this task is I made a cube and in all of the flat sides I put diagonal support in that spot, I did that to all of the flat sides. Then I tested my project and it went great! It held 14 books, isn’t that crazy! Overall this weeks project was intimidating to start with but as the week went on it started to get easier and easier.

This week in technology we looked at different kinds of beams, the most practical beam is I beam. It is called the I beam because when it is put together properly it show have the profile of an uppercase I. When I made it out of cardboard it was very much smooth sailing. One other part of the project was designing a new kind of beam, my beam has 4 sides and is made out of squares, so I call it the square beam.

This week in class we had to create a wellness log spreadsheet, here is mine:

Some of the things on here I did by selecting the cells and either adding or averaging that range of cells. You can use these features for multiple things such as business plans and budgets for your businesses etc.

I loves doing this project it consisted of a lot of fun. I thought that it was super cool that you could make a multiple choice list in a code, I thought only pros could do that! I liked writing the code more than picking what to write. Overall this part of the unit is one of my favorites.
