Capstone 7

Hello! I am so excited because I presented my capstone project! I presented to both my class and a kindergarten class so far. I am filming my capstone today and I am no longer nervous because I have experience from presenting to a crowd. I personally enjoy😀 presenting because I want people to know how hard I worked! I used a prop, I used a yoga ball. My favorite thing about presenting is that I teach someone something and they get to learn! I feel good and proud when I present because I feel very accomplished.

Im both very glad and sad that I have finished capstone. I am glad because I feel I have don

e very well in this project but I am sad because it was such an amazing experience and project, and because I have been looking forward to this project for 6 years and its now done! I hope in middle school we get to do a project similar to capstone.  fingers crossed 🙌!

Thanks,

Very Vanessa

Capstone 6

Hello! So I know I have been talking about all my work and how I am going to present, but do you really know what meditation is? Meditation. Some people consider meditation as a sport. You probably think that meditation is sitting down and criss cross applesauce, closing your eyes, and putting your hands on your knees, but it really just is thinking carefully of both yourself and your surroundings. This may sound crazy but you can even be meditating while going on a run. Some strategies of meditation can be closing your eyes, taking ten deep breaths, going outside for fresh air.

I have now finished both my script, and my slideshow! We are presenting to the parents on the 21, presenting to classes 18 and 19 and the moving up to show the kids is on the 20.

I will update you on how the presentation went!

Science Experiment #2

Today we were doing a science experiment, we were mixing many different liquids ( water, oil, and vinegar) with colored sugar (my groups color was purple). The first experiment my group did was Water and Colored Sugar. The solvent in this experiment was the water. The result of this experiment was that the sugar sank to the bottom, and the water got colored and the colored sugar lost its color. The next experiment was Oil and Colored sugar. The solute for this experiment was the sugar. Our hypothesis was confirmed, our hypothesis was: If we mixed the colored sugar and oil then it will be similar to the water but a lighter shade of purple. Our final experiment was Vinegar and Colored Sugar. Our hypothesis was: If we mix the vinegar and colored sugar then the sugar will not dissolve and will stay the same and the vinegar will stay the same color. Although, our hypothesis was denied. It dissolved within 5 seconds which was very surprising also, the color was much darker then the other colored sugar experiments. I learnt so much from this like how liquids that are all similar looking and feeling have very different reactions to the same thing!

Yours truly,

Very Vanessa
