    INCREDIBLE ROCKET LEAGUE STORIES!

One day, my friends Will E and Henry came over on Christmas. We played Fortnite, and then Rocket League. After playing an online match, (we were smashed 10-0) we made a season. We called our team the Ice Kings. We failed to win 1 game against rookie CPUs and were 0-3. Then we won a game. And another. And another!!! Soon, the three of us were 4-4 going into our final game. Will E was an incredible defender, and I was great at scoring on the kickoff. We won the final match, and went into a playoff match, and won! Finally, we played the championship game. The score was 2-2, but then we scored 7 straight and won!!!!

This month, Edward and I played Rocket League together. I was willDaGoD1 and Edward was DelphicDragon3. We went in to a tournament in Rocket League, and I got a match-and won my match because the other guy left. Edward was playing a noob. Edward won his first match with the overtime, 2-1. Edward’s game was tied at 1-1 when he had to leave. And we would have played each other! Then the noob got really lucky and won 4-2 and 3-0.

Recently, Edward and I had a playdate at my house. We made a season. Our team was called Edward and Will. In our first game, the score was 3-2, the other team in the lead with 2:00 on the clock. But then I cashed in an excellent performance, with 3 goals. We won, 5-3. Then we played our second match. We DOMINATED, with a hat trick each. We won again, 6-3. (Although our defense is terrible.)

Summary: In Russia, a spacecraft called Soyuz took off at 4:40 AM. In less than two minutes, the astronauts had to make an emergency landing because the rocket had malfunctioned. The emergency landing was forced because the rocket’s booster hadn’t detached from the capsule. Fortunately, the two astronauts, Alexey Ovchinin and Nick Hague, were well prepared to evacuate the rocket. They made it to the ground safely. The two astronauts landed 34 minutes after the malfunction, and were in excellent shape. After the incident, Ovchinin and Hague still wanted to go to space, though.

Personal Response: I chose this article because I thought it was interesting that something had gone wrong in a rocket launching for once. Also, I like explosions.

Colonial America Summary

In the article “Colonial America”, the main idea is that colonial times was a time of great change. The Native Americans lives were changing, but not in a good way. When Europeans came to the colonies, they brought ideas like land owning. The natives had no idea what this was, because they all shared land. Some colonies made peace and traded with the Indians. But with other colonies, war broke out against the Indians. The settlers started taking the Indians’ food sources, and eventually, the natives were forced to move out west, where the settlers hadn’t settled yet. If you were a settler, your family was probably English. Some settlers were the pilgrims, who came to America in 1620. The pilgrims had come to practice religion. In 1619, slavery started. And lastly, most people lived in a small town or farm. Therefore, colonial times was a time of great change.

Being the Oldest Child in Your Family is Really Hard!

BEING  THE  OLDEST  CHILD IN YOUR FAMILY IS INSANELY  HARD!!!

I am the oldest child in my family, and it is  really hard! When you are the oldest child in your family, your siblings will try to get what you get, even though they are younger. Sometimes when your siblings attack you and you attack them back, you end up getting in trouble because your siblings are weaker than you are (it’s not true), and mostly because your siblings find ways to weasel out of their punishments, and you can’t!

My first reason that being the oldest child in your family isn’t easy because your siblings find ways or try to get what you get. Whenever I act like a “big kid”, according to my parents, Julia will step up and try to get some credit, too, and that drives me crazy. When my family was going to the Loblolly Yacht Club and Dad said that 2 people could go there in the golf cart, and he needed someone to ride in the car, I said, “It’s okay. I’ll ride in the golf cart on the way home. but then Julia saw Mom and Dad congratulating me, so she said, “I’ll ride in the car too!” because she was upset that Mom and Dad had congratulated me. I ended up in the golf cart, because Julia ended up getting upset and rode in the car. Because of that, I got to ride in the golf cart anyway. There have been multiple times where I do something like that and Julia gets upset. This morning I volunteered to be the person who didn’t get a vanilla waffle. Whenever I have ice cream with my parents while watching a football game, Julia and Vivian find out, and demand ice cream the following day and get what they want. My point is that your siblings will always try to get what you get, even if they are younger.

 

A lot of times when you mess with your siblings, you just get in trouble because they are younger. Last week, I kicked Vivian just for fun and not to hurt her, but I still got in trouble anyway. Another time, I sat on Vivian, and I got in trouble because she is only four. Also, whenever Julia does something mean and I charge at her, I always get in trouble too, even though Julia started it. That always drives me crazy. What am I supposed to do, wait for Julia to stop saying mean things or doing mean stuff?

Also, whenever someone does something mean to Vivian, she just says something not true like, “I’m never going to play with you again!” Then later that same day, Vivian plays with you. I don’t why, but I think that’s weird and it drives me insane!!! My point is that Julia and Vivian always mess with me and when they do something me and I attack them back, I always get in some kind of trouble.

When you’re the oldest child in your family, and you attack your 7-year-old sister, you end up getting in trouble.

When you’re the oldest child in your family and you attack your 4-year-old sister, you end up getting in trouble!!!!!! My point is that, whenever you mess with your siblings, you end up getting in trouble.

And finally, my last reason that being the oldest child in your family is hard is because your siblings weasel their way out of punishments, but you can’t. At first Mom and Dad were fine with letting us getting things back, but that is now not an option for Julia and I. Now, every single time Vivian gets in trouble, from losing her iPad to her stuffed Pooh, it’s a much shorter punishment than Julia and I would get. Mom will say to Vivian, “Okay, you’ve lost your iPad for Friday!” Vivian starts wailing and crying, and then Mom says, “If you stop crying, you can have your iPad back for Friday!” Immediately, Vivian stops crying, and Mom then says, “Okay, you have your iPad back for Friday!” when first Mom says to Julia and I, “Your iPads and the Nintendo Switch is gone for the weekend!” Then Julia and I protest, and BOOM! Gone for another weekend!

Every weekend now, it seems, that Julia and I aren’t playing on our video game consoles and iPads.

Every weekend, we see Vivian watching terrible TV shows on her iPad.

And every weekend, Julia and I get jealous of Vivian because she never gets in trouble!!!

To conclude this essay, being the oldest child in your family is really hard because your siblings will try to get what you get, even though they are younger. Sometimes when your siblings attack you and you attack them back, you end up getting in trouble because your siblings are weaker than you are (it’s not true), and mostly because your siblings find ways to weasel out of their punishments, and you can’t! For anyone who feels this way, now you know that you’re not alone!
