This year I have grown as a writer, like when I tried writing a article and it was actually very entertaining and fun. So now I love to write articles. This was a very key moment of my writing journey because I used to think that articles would take very long and so many details! The time and place even had to be specific! And don’t even get me started on all the news information that I had to include. That’s what I would sound like if you asked me how I would feel about articles at the start of the school year. That’s why at first I was very reluctant to try writing articles when we first started writing them but I quickly started feeling confident about articles.

I was actually very bored when we where doing personal narratives because since 3rd grade we have been doing them so its not exactly exciting like trying a new different kind of genre since I already knew so much about personal narratives. It was also kind of hard to think of a really good story in my life that I wanted to write about. So I was really happy when we where done with personal narratives.

I was kind of confused when we first started essays, because in 3rd grade we started writing essays and I got to the point where I was the whiz at knowing everything about essays, like what we should include, how to write a good theme, and stuff like that. But in 4th grade we didn’t really do any essay writing and I kind of lost it. So when we started writing essays again, I was kind of confused with how I should write it. But now I quickly learned it all again. But even though I think essay writing is pretty easy its still not exactly my favorite.

This year I feel like I have kind of pushed myself to write things outside my comfort zone like the articles, and in the end I learned a lot of interesting things and if I hadn’t tried new genres of writing I wouldn’t have learned many useful things.
